I dont know this little girl any more than anyone else but I'm sitting here, at 7 a.m. , in tears. She was only 11 years old.

Local 6 News and CNN has reported that the body of Carlie Brucia has been found this morning in Sarasota.






Police are planning a news conference around 7 a.m.


CNN said the body was found near a church in Sarasota near I-75.


Sarasota, Fla., officials have announced a 7 a.m. news conference to discuss developments in the Carlie Brucia kidnapping. Developments will be expedited.

They just held a press conference.

The police officials were choked up and near tears giving their statement.

They've charged the suspect in custody, Joseph Smith, with her kidnapping and murder. May he rot in hell.

No release of any other information at this time.

My heart goes out to her family, her mother. I have a 9 year old daughter and I can't imagine. :(

I had hope that they would find Carlie alive. My heart goes out to her family. She was such a pretty girl. :crying:

That's so sad. Beautiful little girl. That guy should get the death penalty. They say he had a long record. I don't understand what he was doing out of jail in the first place.

That's terrible news, I was hoping they would find her alive. :( It's good that they got the man who murdered her though.

I think this is just horrible. This country really needs help, I mean...11 year old girls getting raped and killed?

This is the saddest news. It's terrible watching the videotape of that monster leading Carlie to her death.

This is very sad. The first thing this morning I saw when turning on the TV was this. Just terrible. I almost cried when the press conference at 7:10am was on. :( :( :( I had been following this case very closely since the media picked up on it Tuesday. I didn't expect them to find her alive after the suspect was arrested on unrelated charges Tuesday Night, but you never give up hope. :(

This is so sad.:( When I first heard it this morning I thought they were going to say that they found her alive, and when they didn't I was heart-broken. This poor little girl won't get a chance to live her life, and its horrible that people could do this.:crying:

Why don't the police hang him on a tree and let all the dead poor girl's family and friends beat him to smithorenes and decapitate him like he did that poor girl!!

This is so sad:crying: I was really hoping that there would be a happy ending and she would be found alive. I'm glad Florida has the death penalty, he deserves to fry.:mad:

Oh my god please please please tell me he did not do that to that little girl. I haven't read any sort of release about what happened. I'm already having a hard time with this...that might just put me over the edge.

I don't think that's correct. I have only seen one picture of the body in that sheet being carried away and it seemed to be intact. Still a horrible crime though. :(

Well you can't tell...with a sheet. I can't think about it.

At any rate they have not released ANY information on what happened. They have only said she died of homicidal violence. That's more information than I need to know unfortunatley.

That sweet innocent little girl. I can't bring myself to see the video anymore.

I guess I think of decapitation as being the body in little pieces, well, that's really horrifying to think about. Whatever was done to this child is very horrifying to think about as well. She was 11 years old, which also doesn't help matters. ELEVEN! :( :( :(

Anybody that kills kids should be removed from the face of this earth next to serial killers and corrupt cops and feds!!

She's been all over the news all week.

She was an 11 year old girl from Sarasota Florida who was walking home from a friends house last Sunday afternoon. She took a shortcut through Evie's Car Wash when a man (Joseph Smith) approached her. He was wearing a mechanic's outfit. He showed her, apparently, a gun or other weapon and led her off by the arm. He then murdered her.

All of this, the kidnapping, was caught on the car washes video surveilance camera. They did not issue an Amber Alert until 24 hours later when the camera recording was discovered. Until then they assumed she had runaway.

Have they said anything yet? Like what exactly did he do to her before or after killing her? This story is just so horrible....they should do something to that man. :mad:
