I caught the last 10 minutes of today's episode in which the family is camping (not sure of the episode name/number). June is shown wearing blue jeans (with the bottoms rolled up '50's style, of course.) I guess we can't expect her to go hiking in high heels, can we?
I was wondering - is this the only time June is shown wearing slacks? I don't remember seeing her in slacks in any other episodes.

June was wearing slacks on another episode too. She was planting flowers in the front yard. I think it was the episode where the boys got a paper route and the delivery truck threw the stack of papers onto her flowers.

I just cracked up picturing June in the middle of the woods wearing her high heeels and pearls.
I kind of like that look women had in the 50's where they wore blue jeans with the legs rolled up. On an episode of "Donna Reed", Donna took Jeff and his friends camping and she wore blue jeans and a little cap on her head. Real cute and sexy.

I remember one episode where the Cleavers are leaving for a family picnic and June is wearing a skirt, pearls and heels. Didn't she say she wore heels in the later episodes so she would still be taller than the boys?

ya she did say she wore heels because she had to be taller then the boys, and sometimes she'd stand on a step to add more height

Oh, you mean in an interview Barbara said this? That is pretty funny! But Tony was pretty short even in his later teens, wasn't he, and Barbara seemed quite tall, so I would think that even in flats she would still be taller than him?

Why was it that June had to be taller than the boys? As kids get older and grow they sometimes tower over thier parents, especially mothers.
