Simon's rudeness is why the show is a HIT. If Simon and Randy were nice like Paula, the show would be BORING!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe I'm saying this but...I agree. I LOVE SIMON'S INSULTS (as you can see from my signature) and well, somebody needs to just flat out tell some people that they suck and Simon is perfect for that.

I watch it for that and because of the talent of the contestants. If Simon were not on this show, it would not be as big a hit as it is, in my opinion.

That is about 90% of why I watch it.

Yeah, Simon is the true star of the show. Ryan Seacrest[sp] is expendable.

But its also good to have Simon balanced out with Paula abdul and Randy.

If all 3 were rude, it probably wouldn't be as entertaining.

but it sorta contradicts the whole point of the industry to tell people they suck and should never sing again, when we have the likes of J. Lo and Britney amongst others who cannot sing worth a lick but they have recording contracts and millions of fans.

What do Britney or Jennifer have to be worthy of a contract that 90% of those AI contestants don't? it's certainly not like they have a songwriting talent that can make up for a lacking voice (ala someone like Bob Dylan or Yoko Ono)

I only watch the episodes when the bad singers are on.

Once it goes "to Hollywood".... it gets boring.

i dont watch just because of Simon... i watch to see them perform, and to see the contestants each week. I do however look forward to Simon's insults.

I wouldn't say he's overdoing it. It might seem like that's the case but you have to take into consideration that there were a lot of bad auditions shown, like in Houston (which I think is the worst episode of AI that I've ever seen). Plus there were only 117 people who made it to Hollywood this year. There were about 250 last year.

I watch basically because i love to hear people sing when they're awsome i could really care less about any of the judges comments
