I'm all for free speech and everything but one thing I'll never support is outright nastiness and bullying.

There's a website called GodAwful Fan Fiction and basically it's whole purpose is to rip to shred fanfic that they don't like or think is bad. They do this without permission of the fanfic authors and have their own message board where all they do is slam people's work.

I've read their messages and also stuff written on the site and they are about the most rude, stuck up, full-of-themselves interlecutals I've seen online. If anyone who finds their fanfic on the site and is hurt, and dares post saying so on the message board, they are torn to shreds and usually leave in tears. It's horrible and I can't believe these people's main reason for doing this is "because we can". Darn it they make my blood boil!

Maybe I'm too sensitive/touchy but really, am I the ONLY person who still believes in the whole "if you don't have something nice to say..." gig when it comes to people's work? Sure feels like it sometimes.

I have heard of much more worse fan forums than that and it is sad about people who think that they are above the law and have a better than thou attitude!! I am too sensitive and/or touch feely type of person so don't feel left out!!

Sounds like a lovely little website.

Apparently those losers don't realize that 99.9% (if not 100%) of internet fanfics are written by non-professionals. I doubt most of them have taken classes in formal fiction writing.
