View Full Version : Three's Company Spinoff you think is better-Ropers or Three's a Crowd?
TVFactFan 02-03-2004, 07:57 PM I had to give the slight edge to Three's a Crowd because Stanley Roper had no one to insult and that's what made him funny on Three's Company when he made fun of Jack. I don't think Stanley Roper insulted anyone on the Spinoff Ropers.
vashti1999 02-04-2004, 12:13 AM Ropers, I remember liking it. I liked Jeffrey Tambor on that show.

He was ok. But i guess the Ropers didn;t have a lot of young viewers because 95% of the cast was over 40
Lady T 02-04-2004, 01:00 AM I have seen both The Ropers and Three's a crowd; and I enjoyed The Ropers a lot..even though I agree with you about Mr. Roper not having a certain edge about him because he could not make fun of Jack, and believing him to be a homosexual...
Three's a Crowd..even though I adore John Ritter..I thought this show was not very funny, it was weak when it came to the writing and the actress that played Vicki was not very enjoyable..She was blah and did not put much life into her character.....

And that crazy chef on Three's a Crowd named "EZ", was a true WEIRDO!!!!!!!

Brian Damage 02-04-2004, 11:34 AM ...and Vicki's father was annoying as well. Mr. Angelino would've made a better landlord for Jack.

I'd completely forgotten about EZ on Three's A Crowd, I actually liked that character. But after Cindy, then Terri, Three's Company was getting less and less enjoyable. Even though I still watched Three's A Crowd, you knew by that time it was pretty much time for them to call it quits. If Jack wasn't involved in different girls and a wacky landlord, it wasn't fun. When the Ropers premiered, Three's Company was still fresh, so it would have been nice to see that spinoff be given more of a chance.

I think the expectations was too high because John Ritter starred in Three's a Crowd. They probably was surprised it did not finished in the top 30.
barwars 02-13-2004, 09:11 PM From the few episodes Ive seen of each....

Yeah it would be nice to see GOOD copies of the Ropers but it looks like that will never happen.
barwars 02-13-2004, 09:33 PM There were only 28 episodes of "The Ropers"
and 22 episodes of "Three's A Crowd"
Maybe Anchor Bay could get the rights to these and release them as "The Three's Company Spinoff - The Ropers" and "The Three's Company Spinoff - Three's A Crowd"
Im sure lots, if not MOST, Three's Company Fans would buy these on DVD.
I know I would.

You maybe right. I Think the Ropers DVD would only sell because of the people who never saw the show. Not because the enjoyed the Ropers.
KayCee 02-19-2004, 10:04 PM I never saw either of them, but I think Three's A Crowd is better, just because John Ritter is in it!

Yeah I think TAC was better. Not by much.
gv416 03-28-2004, 04:38 PM The Ropers was better, but it was not nearly as good as it could have been. Norman Fell and Audra Lindley were great in the roles, and Threes Company was never quite the same without them. Should have brought them back when their show was cancelled, but NOOOOOOOOOO..... They should have ended Threes Company altogether when Suzanne Somers left.

After watching TAC yesterday, i have to give the slight edge to the Ropers because of the interaction between the Neighbors. Vicky just wasn't the right person.
