I was flipping channels tonight and saw a cardboard cutout of Freddie.... My heart almost stopped. It was in the beginning of a show called... When Standup Comics Ruled the World on VH1

It looks like it is going to be on a lot, but I will warn you, I don't think there is much of Freddie on it. I watched the first half hour and they didn't mention him again, but I missed the first 5 minutes, so maybe.... I am going to watch it again at 10

TV Race Riot program hasn't been on again, but if it ever does, I plan on watching that too. Dani gave us the heads up about that show. Apparently Freddie makes a brief appearance on this show too.

Wow! It seems like there's more Freddie on TV in the past few years! (Even tho it's not enough!!) We went through a couple of decades with virtually zilch about him on TV! I think TV Land airing CATM for that brief time helped spark a renewed interest in him!
Thanks for the heads-up, Luckymama! I'll be tuning in!

Unfortunately they only showed him in a still montage about five minutes into the show, when they were showing others that starred at Catch a Rising Star. He was on for only a few seconds. They showed a very young Jay Leno first and then Freddie. It was a nice still of him, reminded you of some of the pictures we have seen of him doing standup, but no mention of his name or anything :( Oh, well, at least they showed his picture.

Tonight I noticed that A&E Biography has been running three biographies on three "cold cases" Bob Crane, Sal Mineo, and George Reeves. I watched tonight's, sorry I missed the other two. I was thinking the whole time how George dispaired about his "type casting" in the role of Superman, and how it was assumed at the time that he shot himself over the fact that after the show ended he couldn't get any more work, that the only prospect facing him was talk of doing another 26 shows reviving his Superman character. And there is the fact that there are still people who don't think it was suicide. Cause in his case, the only other alternative theory involves murder, but still.... How many parallels to Freddie did I see? Well you connect the dots....

Anyway, I kept thinking that I wish they would do a show about Freddie. After all, there are soo many unanswered questions about his death, that I would consider it a cold case as well.

Lucky I feel the same way. Something just doesn't sit right with what happened to him.

I think what caused him to commit suicide was the pills. I think if he hadn't have been on those he could've handled the pain of divorce without ending it all...

Just a reminder that the TV Race Riot wil be on tonight and there will be another special called Tv Illest moments or something like that and it will discuss the different racial stereotypes and the effects they still have today. In the commercials that I have seen, they don't mention Chico, but with such a topic, it's just got to be there! So keep a look out and please get those vcrs ready to go!;)

Whopps! Well, Im not sure what happened, but the TV Race Riot is not listed anymore. Instead now they have this TV Illest Minority Moments. Please check your listing to see when it comes on.

Freddie and Jose Feliciano looked a lot like and people would confuse them for the other. Also Freddie was confused with another singer Tony Orlando of Tony Orlando and Dawn
Freddie had everything going for him but had drug, alcohol, depression, and the thrive to succeed beyond himself and took his life at the way too young age of twenty-two!!:(
