I apologize if this has already been asked, but why only 13 episodes the first season? Was this a mid-season addition? Thanks.

Yes Barney Miller started in Mid season on January 23, 1975 and did not start the full season until Fall of 1975.

because the show started in late January as a replacement, that is the reason why there is only 13 episodes of the first season of Barney Miller....

Because I deleted the original post; that is my reply not Starsky's Chick. Her post was offensive and that is the reason why it was edited.

It seems like a lot of the most popular shows from the 1970s began as midseason replacements - Barney Miller, All in the Family, Sanford & Son, Good Times...
