OK, you see...here's the question.

My mom's birthday is coming up soon...it's in around 2 weeks...And anyway, she doesn't have a DVD player. I do, for my TV in my bedroom, but I don't like hauling it out too much (I CAN take it out if people ask me to, but not too often...you know? My mom REALLY loves the TV show "Will & Grace", so I just brought the W&G 1st season DVD for her birthday...I've still got the money to spare for a DVD player...My DVD player is a silver Memorex one that I've had since 2002, but it's REALLY wide and won't fit into my mom's entertainment center setup (Mine fit in there...but just barely...it was a tight fit).

Does anybody know of a DVD player that's not so wide and won't take up so much room and is at least under $100? Size is a major factor...it's a small entertainment center....Thanks in advance! :cool:

Well my DVD player is 17 inches wide and is an RCA. I bought it for $100 a year and a half ago. I know you can get them much cheaper now. Why not measure the empty space in your moms entertainment center and see how much room there is and go from there. Or you can always give your mom your DVD player that does fit and buy a different one for yourself. I'm sure your mom won't mind as long as she gets to watch her favorite shows. :)

Yep...I already measured...it was a tight fit...My DVD player is exactly 16 inches long, and the space for the VCR and stuff just came out to about 17 inches long...REALLY tight fit.

I just want a general idea of which brand DVD players aren't as wide as mine, so that I can shop around the next time I hit the mall. :)

Here's my DVD player...it's the exact one I have. It doesn't look wide, but believe me it is.

You can go to Walmart and buy ones that are probably about a foot (give or take a couple inches) and cost only about 50 dollars.

I just measured mine.. its 10 inches wide.
