View Full Version : Favorite quotes game
Luckymama58 02-01-2004, 11:06 AM Here is a game I thought of while I was watching my tapes today (OK it wasn't original, I have played a variation of this on another board)....
We all have favorite quotes from the show. I have many. Here is a way we can share them and have fun at the same time.
One person names a favorite quote from CATM. Someone else has to guess the character who said it and which episode it came from. Then that person will name another famous quote. Even if the person doesn't get it right, they should still post another quote when the make a guess. The person who posts the quote will then tell us whether the guess was correct or not. This is just a for fun game, no points or anything.
I will start with an easy one:
One of my all time favorite quotes is this:
"Picketing this place is like making love when you're ninety-two, sure it's possible, but why bother.."
Any takers?
kriziazafiro 02-01-2004, 11:47 AM Ed Brown?
hue_mee 02-01-2004, 12:04 PM Oh Oh oh! Chico Rodriguez!!!!
hue_mee 02-01-2004, 03:13 PM Ok I forgot to post the episode! It was from the strike episode

Luckymama58 02-01-2004, 08:21 PM Hue_mee you are sooooo right!:D
OK post a quote, and Macca and kriziazafiro you can post quotes too! :D
hue_mee 02-01-2004, 08:25 PM Here is a humorous one"
"With the money I have in my insurance policy. It would of given me enough money to be wrapped in aluminum foil and shoved underneath a porch"
Luckymama58 02-01-2004, 08:30 PM I know it is Ed Brown, but could it be from the episode where they are checking out the retirement home for Ed?
hue_mee 02-01-2004, 08:33 PM YAY! Luckymama wins a date with Chico in the Van
Luckymama58 02-01-2004, 08:36 PM "I don't know how he does it, Louie? I see your mouth moving but all I hear is Ed."
Pitooey 02-01-2004, 09:12 PM Chico? Chico?
catcopy18 02-01-2004, 11:20 PM I'm thinking that's what Chico said in the boxer episode while he was wearing that blue, wrinklie sweatshirt.
It was chico in the union episode
sorry i joined late and mixed things up:crazy:
Luckymama58 02-02-2004, 06:10 PM "I don't know how he does it, Louie? I see your mouth moving but all I hear is Ed."
Yes that is Chico in the boxing episode.....
OK now it is someone elses turn with a quote... What about catcopy or pitooey???
Karen64 02-02-2004, 08:33 PM Mmmm, here's a hard one I think...
"The young people of today don't set traps for each other...they just let it all hang out!"
Luckymama58 02-02-2004, 08:36 PM hummm that is a hard one, I think it is Della, but I am not sure of the episode, so I am going to take a guess.... is it the one where Chico dates the nurse, Lisa? That was the first time we see Chico's new digs and I think that was what Della was commenting on, to Louie, if I am not mistaken...
Karen64 02-02-2004, 08:40 PM Ding Ding Ding!!! Luckymama is the winner! :mango :D
catcopy18 02-09-2004, 05:29 PM Here's a quote I always thought was cute. Anyone know who said this about whomever and in what episode?
"He had so much lipstick on him he looked like he got mugged by Helena Rubenstein!"
chico said that about ed i believe it was in the episode where he and della played match maker with maggie
catcopy18 02-09-2004, 07:43 PM You got it Joy!!! I'm not sure if you're old enough to remember that Helena Rubenstein was a famous makeup artist who had a popular variety of women's make up back in the 60's and 70's and maybe even longer than that. I thought Chico was so HOT in that episode when he kept arguing with that beligerent snob of a son. I guess that was one of my favorite episodes even though it was close to the end of his life.
I love that line about let me pop LP on his flip side! LOL:lol: what a man what a sense of humor!!!
Karen64 02-09-2004, 11:59 PM Here's one--I think it went:
"That wasn't a 'joke' giggle and that wasn't a 'tickle' giggle. That was 'I'll soon be yearning or a pickle giggle!'"
Who said it about whom and from what episode?
Luckymama58 02-10-2004, 07:12 AM That has to be Ed talking to Chico, from the first episode with Diana Canova, when we meet Patty's father.... I love the end of that one when Chico and Patty pop out of the van and Ed asks them what they are doing in there and Louie pops up and answers, "Just watching TV!" LOL
Now here is another one....
"Wait till he tells you the one about George and Martha Washington."
Name the character who said that and the episode it came from.
was it Louie?
But i can't remember the episode:eek2:
MariposaLKB 02-10-2004, 11:44 AM That was Louie, in the episode "If I were a rich man", with Marilyn. Ed was telling Chico about Romeo and Juliet when Louie leaned in and "whispered" that line to Chico.
Luckymama58 02-10-2004, 01:22 PM Five kisses from Chico to Mariposa, and a few to Joy for remembering who it was....
Ok Mariposa it is your turn!
MariposaLKB 02-10-2004, 01:28 PM OK, try this:
"If a peanut farmer can, then why not a cocktail waitress?"
That was della when she and ed were arging over the importance of woman in society their contributions to government etc.
ti was in the nurse episode when chico got his new apartment and the nurse couldn't keep her mind off work and on him...if you ask me i think she needed to see a Dr.!
MariposaLKB 02-10-2004, 02:29 PM As Freddie would say, Alllllriiiiight! Joy is the winner!
Your turn, amiga...
"Yeah and i know the three words meet me later!"
Karen64 02-11-2004, 08:26 PM That was from "Second Thoughts"; Ed was trying to get rid of Chico and gave him two obnoxious customers that were argueing--the woman was telling the husband what the cute neigbor-lady said to him!
Karen64 02-11-2004, 08:27 PM Here's one...
Mmmm! Robert Redford, eat your heart out!!
congratulations Karen!!!!!
you're the winner of a night with Freddie!

Yeaaah, baby!
Let me go put on somethin sexy!
Luckymama58 02-11-2004, 09:02 PM Hummm that is a hard one... .it sounds like Chico either talking about himself in the mirror, when he is dressing up, or to Ed when he is all dressed up, but I dunno what show it would be from.....
is it della talking to ed whenhe is dressed up to take her to the soy (Save our youth)banquet in black tie blues??
"Which lucky re taped for me when my kids accidently taped over the ending:eek:
thank you Lucky!!!
Karen64 02-12-2004, 09:39 AM Here's a couple of hints: It's a female:cool: And the show is from the second season..
was it dianna cannove from patty in the van episode when she sees chico in that suit???
Karen64 02-12-2004, 07:00 PM Here's another hint about the character and the show: She hates fat jokes!
It was flora saying that to ed when he came out of the office in the tux when they were going to get married in the hypnotist episode???
Luckymama58 02-12-2004, 09:45 PM That's right, I can hear her now..... somehow I thought it was that episode, I could see Ed in the tux, but I guess I had the scene wrong..... Oh well, That was a toughie!
How about this one."You go in the van a twist his arm, and i'll go out and see can i hear the real chico yell."
Luckymama58 02-15-2004, 10:45 AM That was from the episode where Chico was moonlighting at the all night gas station by the main highway. Louie says that line to Ed when they think someone stole their Chico! LOL
Here is one. It is the end of a longer speach actually.
"..... and the American taxpayer has been hanging ever since!"
Prince 02-15-2004, 10:51 AM Here's one...Chico looks over at his new girlfriend and says my favorite line that would surely melt my heart "Come here to me"
Lucky that one is from the episode where Ed's garage is going to be torn down and he has to leave, the Father huna pera sarah one Ed says that in his speech about Nathan Hale and the american tax payers
Macca yours is from Morgan and the man when Chico wants to propose to Nancy and ed is upstairs listening in
Luckymama58 02-15-2004, 12:53 PM Joy, Chico is waiting in the van with a big surprise for you for getting mine right! :D
Your turn!
I gave up working in pediatrics 6 monthes ago!"
Chico here i come!
Luckymama58 02-15-2004, 09:15 PM That was the second Patty from the episode where Chico moves out, the first episode of the third season!
Here is another one....
"Well I'm not goin be your neice!"
That's chico in the episode where Ed wants to propse to aunt connie....my favorite episode!!!
Luckymama58 02-15-2004, 09:28 PM Tee hee, mine too.... Boy Joy, Chico is going to get all worn out keeping you in prizes! LOL
La Huerita 02-17-2004, 12:10 PM i know i havent answerd any but pleeeeaaase can i still give one? i got a great one in mind :D
"your just saying that because i stole your heart away"
this line is so cute :D heehee
I hate to be greedy but that is one of my favorites!!!! if someone doesn't answer it soon I will!!!
chico is saying that to ed when he comments about how his people are always stealing things....I believe it is in the episode Ed talks to God
Karen64 02-26-2004, 11:19 PM Here's one I always got a chuckle off of...I think it goes:
"Every morning at dawn, my poor mother would get up and take the bus over to the rich people's neigborhood. There she would pick up the washing and the linen....and that used to bother me, 'cause I knew, someday, she was going to get caught."
Prince 02-26-2004, 11:22 PM I don't know what show that's from...but that's way too funny. I guess I missed that one...maybe it's from the Padre show when Chico meets his dad for the first time?? Just guessing.
Luckymama58 02-27-2004, 09:33 AM That was Ed from the Accident episode, where he is telling Louie about his tough life. LOL
Here is another one:
"It happens every time.... I just moved out of 1417 Flower!"
MariposaLKB 02-27-2004, 09:50 AM That was the waitress, Anita Cappuccino (played by Penny Marshall) in the bathtub episode!
Luckymama58 02-27-2004, 10:04 AM Ding Ding Ding..... Smooches and hugs and ;) from Chico for Mariposa! He's in the van waiting! LOL
Now it is your turn for a quote!
MariposaLKB 02-27-2004, 10:08 AM Gimme a coupla minutes to think of something! I had another Dark Angel on my mind just now...let me just digress long enough to say Happy Birthday to Josh Groban hee hee!
Back in a few with the next quote, ladies!
MariposaLKB 02-27-2004, 10:26 AM "In those days the girls moved a lot faster than the cars!"
There ya go, girls hee hee!
Karen64 02-27-2004, 11:39 AM Oh, wow, I've heard that, but not sure on the episode! I'm still half asleep and my brain hasn't woke up yet!
I think it's from the episode with Diana Canova as Chico's date, where Louie is telling Ed that, back in his day, the only car in town was the cop car, and they had to borrow that once in a while to learn how to drive! I think Louie said it....
MariposaLKB 02-27-2004, 11:48 AM But that ain't it!
I think it's ed talking about chico moving too fast in wanting to mary marilyn in if i were a rich man???
MariposaLKB 02-27-2004, 12:50 PM Not right either!
Ed said it in the Miklos the gypsy episode when they were commenting on the terrible shape of myklos's car...or sdomething like that they were in the office and myklos was reading ed's palm in the lottery episode
MariposaLKB 02-27-2004, 01:15 PM You're half right this time Joy...right episode. Whatcha say, ladies, do we give it to her? (After all there is really only one other option as to who said it LOL!)
MariposaLKB 02-28-2004, 09:13 AM OK, Joy does it again! Congrats!
Gracias amigas!
here's one not sure of the exact wording but here goes
"Lets do what the baker did when the bakery was on fire, get your buns outta here!"
Luckymama58 02-28-2004, 11:56 AM Close enough I think....
I think that was Chico to Ed when they were going to demolish the garage in the "This Hallowed Garage" episode?
congratulations 1000 kisses from evryone's favorite mechanic for Lucky!!!
your turn
Luckymama58 02-28-2004, 08:18 PM Well now I have to think, and that is a chore these days.....
"Hey, I gotta know what day it is, man..."
Chico said that to ed when he took away the calander that had the nude lady on it. I think it was the episode where ed's friend dies owing him 500 dollars and Chico tries to cheer him up
Luckymama58 03-02-2004, 08:25 PM I am sooooo sorry I haven't gotten back to you Miss Joy. The truth is, I am not sure what episode it is from, but it is first season. I meant to look it up, but I haven't had the time to watch my tapes. I have been TOOOO busy :(
Anyway, the situation was the right one and the person saying the quote was Chico, so since you got the actor and the scene right, you got the prize. Chico is warming up in the van and is all ready for you! LOL
It's your turn again.
here's one.
"I thought you didn't want me to fight?"
"I don't"
"Than don't ask me to tell you what i said."
Sorry but it;s actually two in one, bonus prizes if you get both
Luckymama58 03-05-2004, 06:00 PM That was Chico and Ed in that order... and it was the boxing episode, am I correct???
yes you are correct!!! Congratulation!!! Chico is waiting and puckered!!!
Luckymama58 03-05-2004, 07:09 PM AND SO AM I MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM LOL :happyface
Here is another one:
I can't do it.... the signs aren't right.... Chico is a Leo and I'm a coward!
Louis says that when Ed wants him to tell chico that Marilyn won't marry him???
Luckymama58 03-06-2004, 01:03 PM DING DING DING..... YOU GOT IT!!!!! (ala Chico)
Big kiss from Chico for Joy!!!
Your turn.....
"Every night i'd walk 8 miles up and 8 miles back and on thursday we'd meet half way in a field"
"How long did that last?"
"Until i broke out in an alphalpha rash.
tylersmistress2002 03-08-2004, 11:30 AM one of my favorite quotes from Freddie...and I dont remember which episode it was, but I can pictures his face...saying...
My people have a saying....he says it in spanish...and then says what it means... "I dont belief you".... w/his adorable accent.
I think that is from the third episode where Ed changes his mind and doesn't want chico working for him and he says you tell me to go and i'll go and when ed says i want you to go Chico says I don't belief you.
"You haven't got enough to fill a glove."
who said this and what episode?
