View Full Version : off yet on topic. Lifetime
Dean Winchester 01-31-2004, 03:51 PM Laverne And Shirley is coming to Lifetime's lineup in April. You may ask "what does this have to do with Facts Of Life?". A lot actually. Like Facts, L&S is a much older show that had it's time on Nick At Nite.... if Lifetime (who usually caters to shows from the past 20 years) will pick up Laverne And Shirley, it's very possible they can get Facts Of Life too if enough people petition
Shmoo 01-31-2004, 05:33 PM oooooo, we should make one!!!

sounds like a plan. I think FOL does fit in with Lifetime's programming (i.e: Golden Girls, Designing Women, Ellen, Mad About You, The Nanny, Laverne And Shirley, etc...)

Is Ellen a regular program that they show? I've only seen it on like twice in the morning and it took Suddenly Susan's spot for those days but now SS is back on.....Personally I'de rather have Caroline in the City back on! I think the FOL fits perfectly!

well, Lifetime originally aired Ellen in 98-99 then shelved it after awhile, but they recently brought it back as a late night show (1:30 EST) because of Ellen's renewed popularity with Finding Nemo and her talk show. I am currently taping them just in case they pull it again (right now Lifetime's about midway into the third season, the year Jeremy Piven and Clea Lewis joined)
JonAndyrgr8 02-01-2004, 11:47 AM I have a petition site www.freewebs.com/thefactsoflife in the guestbook
SBTB Geek 02-02-2004, 03:34 AM Yeah, "Facts of Life" DEFINATELY belong on Lifetime.
Rebel Queen 1980 02-05-2004, 01:15 AM I agree,That would cool to see Nancy McKeon in her two
hit shows past and present!!,Let's Go For It!!!
dali lama 102 02-09-2004, 10:32 PM I don't think Nancy McKeon herself would like it at all. She seems to have anguish over her FOL days. So the worst thing you would want for her is to put the show she was on as a kid on the same channel her current show is on. Unless you want The Division to move to another channel because Nancy herself told them to or something. For Nancy McKeon's respect and wishes, can we consider this one a lost petition, please? We can always keep voting for the Facts of Life to come on DVD on some DVD site or something.
dali lama 102 02-09-2004, 10:35 PM Plenty of old shows no longer in syndication are now on DVD. Look at Good Times and What's Happenin'. What channels do you see these two shows on? I haven't seen these two shows on TV or cable in at least 3 or 4 years.

why would Nancy hate it? It's not like they'd be airing FOL and Division back to back. Think of it as how they had Any Day Now starring Annie Potts, which was a Lifetime original series... but yet Lifetime ALSO aired Designing Women reruns.
Bea Arthur is the same way towards Golden Girls as Nancy is to FOL (refusing to do a scripted reunion) but she has absolutely no objection to the show on Lifetime.

I don't think Nancy so much has "anguish" towards the series (think how Gary Coleman blames everything that is sad and bitter about him onto Diff'rent Strokes), more it seems like she just considers it a chapter in her past that's over and no need to return to it at this stage. If she was bitter about the series, she wouldn't still be friends with Lisa and Charlotte. From how I see things, Nancy is proud of Facts Of Life, but she is a forward-thinking person and would rather concentrate on the here and now instead of looking 20 years into her past. She's got a career today, she's not like Mindy or Lisa where FOL was the apex of their career and they'll always be linked to the series.
I seriously doubt (especially seeing the pics of her with Lisa and Charlotte taken 2-3 years ago... they all seem to love each other still) that she'd object to Lifetime airing FOL, just that she probably wouldn't agree to film commercials for the show.
