Choose which change to the show you feel was the beginning of the end for "Good Times".

There is not other choice, and even the people who worked on the show knew that when they killed James Evan, they killed the show. To me Jimmy Walker was not that funny to carry that show alone. And although I thought Esther Rolle did a good job, she still need to have that interaction with John Amos.

I totally agree with you; I think the show "Jumped the Shark" when John Amos character was killed off and when JJ became head of household...the show lost something when the lead character and the focus of the show was based on JJ, who in my opinion was not strong enough to carry the show....

I hated when they killed James off but in some sense it did give some credence to how some families try to do better and a death in the family stalls their chances to get out of the ghetto.
