Everyone talks about how great Robert Reed was. It's true, no doubt. But what about Barry Williams.
I think Williams was a unique actor, who may have also been influenced by Reed. He had the natural ability to pick up on some of Reed's influence.
Also, he knew that the kids were the main characters of the show, and his being the oldest was a very important part of the show. He naturally fit into the role. And his character became a big part of the show's appeal.
