Nick at Nite is having an All in the Family tribute marathon to Carrol O'Connor - so I don't think they will be rescheduling Men For All Seasons.

How come I just KNEW something like that was going to happen? That marks the second time when that particular episode was preempted for unprecedented events. I'm incredibly disappointed. This would be the first new episode I've seen in months, and let's just say that All in the Family gets more than its fair share of air time as it is. With even more marathons coming up anyway, there's not so much a need for this. Yes, he did die, but how much of the show are people expected to be able to watch? Let TV Land do a marathon.

I agree! Let tvland do their thing. But of course they want to mess up again for no apparent reason. Why can't they do this during Come Back to the truckstop! IMO I hate that episode!

It never ends does it? Nick truly hates the show. I also wanted to see this upcoming episode. Couldn't the tribute pre-empt the TV Dinner theme on Sunday? FOL wasn't even included even though 2/3 of the series was related to food. I always expect the worst from Nick and they never let me down.

Ok I've had it up to here with NAN now it's personal I mean I was ok with no more sunday eps but now I haven't seen a new ep since the end of March and now that were getting into the later seasons there are a bunch of eps I would like to tape and men for all seasons was one of them but of course something like this just has to happen. Now they are taking it off for the rest of the summer when I actually have time to watch it and they are putting on shows in the marathon that are going to be on later at night and I mean haven't we had enough of them they have already had 2 eps every single night this past year give them a brake! And I would like to know what is so wrong with the Facts of Life it gets NAN the most viwers and that's how they get money by us watching and there tampering with that!!!!!! Sorry this is so long but I just had to get this off my chest.

I hate N@N SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for this! I wish they would frickin quit showing FOL all togather and let either TVland, FOX Family, or TNN take it!! I mean its just not fair that they have the right to all of these episodes and only air four and this week just three eps a week then just let it sit on the shelves for two months!!!!

God- I know you love FOL, but Carroll O' Connor just died. Many people loved this man and loved 'All in the Family'. This man deserves a damn fine tribute. He has entertained people much more longer than the cast of FOL has.

So let N @ N do their tribute. On that night just get out your tapes that you've taped and watch the things.

I know I will probably get trashed by all you fol fans, but I don't care. If one of the stars of any of your fave. shows passed away, you would want a tribute done. If the network didn't- I imagine you would be mad.

I can understand the "Facts of Life" fans being somewhat upset(I watched the show religiously in the 80's) that the show will be preeempted on Monday; however, growing up in the 70's/early 80's watching Carroll O Connor as Archie Bunker I can see how this icon deserves to be honored and I appreciate the gesture Nick is making. True TV Land is airing a marathon this weekend but many people do not get the station even five years after it first hit the airwaves.

I agree that the tribute could have been scheduled on Sunday night but the powers that be placed it where they did, so instead of begrudging the man his due, either watch the tribute or change the channel; take heart in the fact that FOL will be back the very next night.

Of course Nick at Nite should do a tribute to Carroll O’Connor. He deserves the honor. I don’t think anyone here is saying there shouldn’t be a tribute. But us FOL fans have been waiting months to see Men For All Seasons and some have never seen it. With FOL not airing at all for the rest of the summer, this was one episode I was really looking forward to seeing and it is very frustrating that we will have to wait until who-knows-when to see it (if NAN even airs it at all)!! The least NAN could do is reschedule Men For All Seasons.

I don't like the idea of missing this episode, but this is a good reason. Carroll O'Connor deserves the tribute. He changed the face of television and helped take is where it is today. He deserves the tribute more than anyone else!

It's just a show! A TV icon just died--the last thing everyone should be doing is complaining about an episode of the Facts of Life not being shown. It's not like 'Men for all Seasons' will never be shown again. I mean, I like Facts of Life just as much as everyone(especially the later seasons) but Carroll O'Connor really deserves this tribute.

That's just my opinion.

I agree with you all the way! He played Archie Bunker for 13 SEASONS!- 12 years! The man deserves a tribute!
If Charlotte Rae died, they would prob. show TWO nights worth of episodes, one- FOL two- DS.

You should be happy that FOL is on. You won't be feeling like this when NAN's contract runs out.....

Carroll O' Connor definitely deserves a tribute, but N@N can do something to squeeze in "Men for all seasons." But with this "All in the family" marathon, their ratings will remin high and they're probably not going to worry about promoting FOL anymore.

All in the Family has def. become more popular since Thursday. On a lot of the channels are Carroll O' Conner interviews, discussions, and bios.

I agree totally. Yeah, it stinks that they won't show this episode, but it isn't like the world is going to end if we don't see it. I was talking to my dad about how NAN keeps cutting back on FOL, and he said that it may be because they know how many fans there are, and they sort of want to string out the episodes so that we won't end up seeing the same ones over and over. Let's hope.

Don't see why there's even an argument. It's Nick at Nite's call, and we can't change it either way.

Although, I will say this... I would've watched the FoL episode. The AITF marathon, while tasteful, doesn't interest me in the least... especially since I'm getting a weekend full of AITF on TV Land. Plus, TV Land is (most likely) showing better episodes. Right now, Edith's Rape episode is on... N@N wouldn't show episodes like that if their lives depended on it.

I was a bit shocked to read the first few replies to this topic. Personally, I was never a big fan of O'Connor...I never really saw any of his work except All in the Family (a show which didn't really interest me). However, the man had just died. So Nick at Nite decides to run an All in the Family marathon to honor this man---which means, gasp!--The Facts of Life won't be on for one night. I guess I can understand whoever was upset because Nick at Nite didn't warn us of the lack of TFOL on Monday. I mean, they should've known such a tragedy was going to occur, right? How dare they! They could've given us at least a week's notice, right?

Not so much the programming decision, just the ironic timing once again. The same episode just happened to be on the same night they had a special marathon that would not have happened if not for some extenuating circumstance having happened merely days before the episode was scheduled to air. In November it was the presidential election, now the death of Caroll O'Connor. It's just almost uncanny how that worked out.

The timing is ironic. And for me personally, it's weird because when N@N aired the FOL pilot episode, my TV picture got real fuzzy- AND among all of my cable channels, ONLY N@N had a fuzzy picture..Well, maybe FOL is too distracting anyhow- I've never seen so many ppl get obsessed over a TV show......

I couldn't have said it better myself. I know you guys are dissapointed at not seeing "A man for all seasons". I am too. But whether or not you liked "All in the Family" or Caroll O'Connor, give the man a little respect. He was a TV icon.

Believe it or not, You guys CAN live without FOL for ONE night. But if missing this ep. bothers you that much, there's nothing you can do about it. I guess you'll just have to make do with watching one of your taped episodes.

I can't wait till fol is on another network that supports it. The only reason n@n probably airs it because they paid so much money for it and so they don't get so many mad letters in the mail. I know their favorite show is Three's Company because they air it twice a night no matter what. Their reason for not having fol on this year's summerthon is because it teaches lessons. So what?? That's just a dirty excuse because they hate it.

My thinking is because the Fandemonium was on TV Land all weekend so it wouldn't make sense to have it on 2 channels at the same time.
