I had read on another site where the Taming of the Shrew episode was one that had notable "goofs", So, when I watched it this morning, I was looking for them. Boy, they did a lousy job cutting this show.

Check out when Brian and Helen are in the self help group, and Brian starts drawing on the chalkboard, the very first thing he does is draw a question mark. He turns to look at the others, turns back to the board and it is gone. Later, in one of the other clips, you can see the bottom half of the question mark.

Also, Brian draws a sperm and egg in the upper right corner, but then in one shot, there is a Heart with "Mommy" inside it. Then the next shot the sperm and egg are back again.

I found it funny to watch that scene, and just pay attention to the chalkboard, it changes constantly.

I noticed that, too. I think I had to watch it a few times before it sunk in. If you go to the "tvtome" website and look at that ep... I'm the person who wrote that in the "goof/nitpick" section. :)

Wow, that's cool! You do know that you probably used up half of your 15 minutes of fame with that one though. ;)

I was glad that Helen's violence was addressed in this episode, to the point that the group held an intervention about her difficulty and behavior in getting over Joe.

Not to run this into the ground, but I think her punching Joe in the gut and driving through his office was distasteful, and not just 'feisty Helen'. After this episode, I feel better about it because it was acknowledged. Those writers knew their stuff.

Brian was a riot in the Transition's group. It's always nice to see him show his emotions because it's rare. The chalkboard diagram was a scream.

Off topic, but Joe's hair is much lighter this season. I don't know which looks better. I think he is extremely handsome, so that's probably why I can't decide. His face and physique are perfection.

Off off topic, but does Tim Daly's sister, Tyne, ever make an appearance on Wings? Those are two talented siblings. I wonder if they're close?

After I read your post, I paid attention to the magical chalkboard, and you were right on target. Evidently, they changed Brian's chalkboard routine, and it got messed up in the editing room.

That aside, that entire Transition's scene was so funny....Helen role playing and scaring the wits out of the elderly man...and Brian with that chalkboard was funny.

Brian is hilarious. They all are. The casting on this show is sheer perfection. Each character adds so much to the show.

I think I'm getting obsessed with Wings, lol.

Part of what makes Wings one of my favorites (if not favorite) is the casting. At the time, all of the actors were virtual unknowns except for maybe Crystal. And even she was not a name, just somebody that had a couple minor film roles and did a season or two of Happy Days and a few years of "It's a Living". Not a huge resume. Tim Daly was maybe known for "Diner" but that was about it.

But it was perfect casting and just great chemistry.

the line from this episode that makes me laugh the most is that guy (i forgot his nae) at the Transitions meeting, when they were doing the role-playing thing, and he goes to Helen,
"Use me! I'm a tool!"

That same guy played in an earlier episode Friends & Lovers. He was one of the applicants for the pilot job since Joe couldn't fly because of his hypertension. I thought the funny part of that was in the interview with Joe, he had a letter of recommendation from Charles Lindbergh!! :lol:

Thanks, Wingshock!! Rosalind Russell will always be the true Auntie Mame. I'm sure you know of the music version of this movie, "Mame" with Lucille Ball and Bea Arthur plays Vera. I love both women as comediennes but I just cannot watch this version.

OK, Wingshock, one last thing about Auntie Mame, I promise(because this is not Chit Chat-movies, which I also go on). Have you ever seen the movie "Trading Places"? There's a scene where Dan Ackroyd's snooty friends are all sitting around at the country club talking and one of the girls says "And she stepped on the ball" and they all start laughing. I get such a kick out of that line, I wonder if it was intentional, and for somebody who's never seen Auntie Mame, probably wouldn't get the 'joke'. OK, that's all I wanted to say.

Yeah, I get it!! That's the thing, the girl sounds just as snooty as 'little Glory'.

I forgot to mention this but Auntie Mame has sort of a Wings connection. Roger Smith, who plays the older Patrick, is married to Ann-Margret!!

I really laughed at that too, but then I REALLY laughed after Helen went off on him and he said,"I don't wanna play anymore!" ha ha ha!!! :rotfl:
