View Full Version : TDVDS Downloads
SawgrassSteve 01-29-2004, 11:01 AM If your cell phone can handle polyphonic, multi-timbral ring tones, you can download a good DVDS theme song to set as your ring from this site Gamemobile.co.uk (http://www.gamemobile.co.uk/tv.htm).
Additionally, you can get DVDS wave files for your computer from this one TVland.ClassicTVHits.com (http://tvland.classictvhits.com/DickVanDyke/Sounds/).

Lolac 01-29-2004, 12:12 PM Steve, those are GREAT!!! I want to run out and get a new phone just so I can have that theme song ring! I love the .wav files, too. Thanks for sharing!

Burford Lives!! 02-08-2004, 10:49 PM Thanks Steve.
Here is a website with the same ringtone, but it is free:

SawgrassSteve 02-09-2004, 10:47 PM Even better, Burf!
Thanks.
Steve
ddenoff 02-17-2004, 10:46 PM These are cool, but remember that Earle Hagen, the man who composed the Theme Song, MAY NOT be getting his well-deserved royalties on these downloads - especially the free one.
While they ARE for our own enjoyment, believe it or not, ringtone downloads are already a $3.5 BILLION a year business!!!! so there's room to give Mr. Hagen his due. I'm going to check with Earle, and if there's NOT a legal download in place, perhaps we can set one up on our own site. keep you posted.

I'd be more the happy to pay for one if they had one that worked with my phone. I have a Nokia 5165 and it is not a high tech model that uses graphics and all the stuff. So if you do get the rights, please consider making one in all the ring types :thanks:

Carrie 07-09-2004, 02:23 PM I wish I had the browser installed on my phone. That's the only way that I can see being able to get the ringtone. I wish there was another way. :(

Does your phone allow you to compose your own ringtone? Mine's really old and clunky so I can't ever download any, but I can compose my own...after many painstaking hours (well, minutes) and now it rings the Mary Tyler Moore Show themesong :D

Ooh, how'd you do that? I wish I could make my phone do that. :D

With great difficulty ;)
on an Ericsson:
Settings --> ring type --> edit melody
Can't remember which notes are which keys but a bit of fiddling around should do it for ya :)
Carrie 07-11-2004, 09:26 AM I found a bunch of free sites that let me do that, but none them had the DVD show theme. I'm too impatient to try creating my own. It probably wouldn't sound right anyway. ;) I'm going to check with my service provider to see how much the web browser costs. If it's not too much, I'll probably add it to my plan. From the way it looked on the one website, I think the DVD show theme costs around $1.00. I'm not too good at converting from pounds though.
