I never saw this episode bu just was wondering why Willis spent the night at Eastland and more importantly why would he be at Eastland without Kimberly, Arnold and Mr. Drummond?

I believe only Arnold spent the night. He went up to stay with his "girlfriend," Mrs. G., and was bored because all the girls went to the Chug-A-Lug bar.

This was "The New Girl" episode, where we first meet Jo.

There is a episode of Facts of Life when Willis guest stars by hisself. That episode is called "Bought and Sold". Have you seen that episode?

First of all, it's hiMself.

Second, I have the episode on tape. It guest stars Zsa Zsa Gabor as the Countess.

well isn't the facts of life kind of a spin off from different strokes?

Mrs. Garret worked for mr. drumming as like a maid/ nanny and then left mid show or late show to go and work in eastland. So if willis was over, I wouldn't think anything of it, he was probably visiting his former nanny.

Granted I'm speculating because i've never seen this episode.

Well if you can't tell me why he was there alone, either you have not seen this episode in years or the writing was very poor. WHERE WAS ARNOLD, KIMBERLY, and MR. DRUMMOND in THAT EPISODE???

SOLOMON you nut.

Anyway, I've seen the episode. The reason why Willis went up there alone was probably because he was old enough to. I visit people I used to know when I was younger once I got the chance to drive. Even if he couldn't drive, he could have taken the train.

Also, maybe he went alone because he wanted to spend time with someone at the school....let's say a girl...alone. ;)

All i'm asking was there an explanation in the EPISODE as to why Willis was at Eastland alone. If there wasn't then that's the answer I'm looking for.

I loved the way Jo twirled the basketball in this episode.:)
I am curious as to why Kimberly( Dana Plato) did not guest star on more than just the pilot of The Facts of Life?

Maybe Kimberly WAS into drugs, but we didn't know it because it was some sort of SECRET life she had.*shrugs* It could happen. When characters are shown on television, the only sides of the characters shown are the ones that are WRITTEN... the OTHER non-written side of Kimberly could've been into heavy drugs...;)

Just helpin' ya out, Dannie;)

Perhaps, but an interracial couple, especially on a show about kids, might have been too controversial for the time period.

Yea i see what you mean, especially between black men and white women (who i feel pose the most threat). It's silly to have Tootie in a predominantly white area but not have her date at least ONE white guy, come on now! When Andy started to develop a crush on Tootie that was obviously never going to go anywhere because of the age difference anyway....

Gemini_89
03-07-2016, 10:48 PM
Why even touch on the Brian and Sylvia angle (even almost having a spin-off) if they didn't want to do interracial dating.......

Willis loved Mrs. Garrett and he was a good friend who would always be willing to do a favor for her.

I guess Mrs. Garrett called the Drummond's to ask Willis to do a favor for her? But that all could have been explained in the episode.

Seems like Kimberly would have made a guest alone before Willis

IIRC, in "Bought and Sold" Mrs. Garrett did NOT invite Willis up for the weekend. He just came over to help Blair deliver the Countess's makeup, that's it. Right?

In "The New Girl", Mrs. Garrett did invite ARNOLD to spend the weekend with she and the girls at Eastland.
