View Full Version : 1/26/04 / Filming of this episode Family Ties Forever! 01-28-2004, 03:27 AM - EricIdlefan 01-30-2004, 12:24 AM Glad to see Barry back!! Miss him!! ~Tropical Punch 19~ 01-30-2004, 07:31 PM It was an okay episode. They start filming in July and end in in April. They tape two episodes a month...I think. It takes awhile to edit the episode. It seems right that episodes from two months beforehand would be shown now. I mean if they tape it in July and don't start showing the new season until the end of September than that would be about two months. Lynn 01-31-2004, 07:04 PM First of all, let me say that I have always been a fan of this show. I don't mean to sound overly harsh but I just feel this last episode was one of the worst and, as a fan, I am very disappointed in the show. Here's why: 1. The war in Iraq is a complex and serious issue and is therefore not something that can be handled properly on a simple family drama. I don't care to see these tertiary characters carry on an political debate and I don't think either side of the issue was handled properly. 2. The Lies! We did not lose the Vietnam War because of protesters at home and to suggest such a thing is extremely irresponsible. Young, impressionable kids watch this show and will believe these things. The writers and producers need to open up a history book, jeez. 3. Roxanne has an opinion about the war and Martin's dad calls her naive and then shoves his tongue down her throat. How condescending of him. I guess since I am a 20-something female, my opinions are naive too. I just hate the message that this sends. 4. The idea that disagreeing with your country somehow lets the terrorist win is just stupid. No matter what side of the issue you are on, this country was founded on freedom of speech. The terrorists actually win if we give up the right to free speech and criticize those who speak out, not the other way around. I don't have a problem with people liking this episode for the fun of it, I just hope they realize the lies that were being perpetuated and I hope they don't believe everything that was said just because it was on Seventh Heaven. I know people may argue that it's just a TV show, it's not real so they don't have to be correct, but 7H has previously done very special episodes, such as the Holocaust one, where they speak truthfully about the issue in the hopes of educating the viewer. Innocent viewers may have assumed the same thing about this episode, which was actually full of lies! Sorry about the rant. I wasn't trying to disturb the peace around here, I just had to vent before my head exploded. |
