Do you think Casey would have been more accepted by the fans if she was in the show from the beginning? . Maybe since she just showed up in season six, when she wasn't really needed was a reason for not liking her.

Everyone seems to agree that Antonio was a great addition to the show. But Casey seems to be half and half around here. Same goes for Alex. Who here thinks Alex was a positive addition ... I forget.

Yes, I do think that Casey would have been a more popular character if she had been on "Wings" from the beginning...or at least an earlier season than Season 6.

Personally, while I find Casey to be a funny character right from the start, I don't find myself actually LIKING her until Season 7. That first season had her being too snobbish, and she was even something of a trouble-maker by causing arguments between Joe and Helen. She really "loosened up" and became friendlier in Season 7.

As for Alex, I don't think that she added much of anything in the way of comedy to "Wings". Her character was good for setting up different plot devices, but as for HER, I can count her genuinely FUNNY moments on "Wings" on one hand and still have fingers left over! I think that even if Farrah Forke hadn't been let go from the series (for whatever reason), the character of Alex wouldn't have gone very far and probably would have eventually fizzled out on her own.

I thought Casey was a good addition to the show. I loved how Antonio got tongue tied whenever he was near her. Her and Antonio would have made a great couple. I don't understand why the writers dropped that storyline. I never cared for Alex. She just didn't seem to fit in.

I don't know if Casey would have been more accepted by fans if she had joined he cast earlier... maybe she would have, but I still dont understand why so many Wings fans never liked Casey. Casey was one of my favorite characters in the last 3 seasons. Even when she first came to the show and was snobbish, I thought she was funny. and then I liked her more once she became more like 'one of the gang'.
So I don't know, because I'm kind of confused in the first place as to why a lot of people don't like Casey.

And I never really liked Alex. I never thought she was funny, and she didn't really do anything for the show.

I think that Alex would have worked a LOT better as an occassional character, like Carlton and Lewis Blanchard or Sandy Cooper.....

They could have had Alex fly into Nantucket every so often and "stir things up" a bit, with all of the guys falling all over each other trying to impress her.

An occassional appearance by Alex could have resulted in some funny bits by the other characters as well....I could just see Helen, Casey and Fay rolling their eyes, waiting for the guys to make complete FOOLS of themselves, like they would do every time Alex came to town.

Yes, I think that Alex would have been better with "once in a while" appearances instead of being a full-fledged series regular.

I haven't seen enough of Alex to give an informed opinion, but Casey was great. Everyone has their opinions, but I can't imagine why someone wouldn't find Casey entertaining.
Funny, sexy, a little naughty....she and Brian were perfect as both lovers and friends.

Amy Yasbeck is a talented actress, and she brought a great deal to Wings. I'm sure they realized that another pretty female was needed on the show to balance things out somewhat, and Casey fit the bill perfectly.

I know I'm in the minority, but I liked Alex. As Brian would say "So sue me!" ;)

I probably would have liked Casey better if they didn't stick her with Brian all the time. I didn't see any romantic chemistry at all. I agree with jpnoyes about Casey and Antonio making a good couple. It really bothered me that the writers had Antonio pine for her for a whole season, then just drop the storyline. Those two HAD to get together at some point! I guess maybe the writers didn't want it to look like they were ripping off Ross and Rachel on Friends. (Although I think Antonio and Casey would have made a much better couple than Ross and Rachel.)
