Fan report: Creator says DVDs are a Go!

One of the things we love here at TVShowsOnDVD is the evidence we see daily of true fandom. Fans of a particular show get so excited about their series, and want to own it at home. Toward that end, they are often enough the ones who find out first that a DVD release is being produced.
Chris Beachum is such a fan. He enjoys Everybody Loves Raymond so much that he not only attended an episode recording, but managed to get the show's creator, Phil Rosenthal, to let the cat out of the bag about the DVDs. Here's the note Chris sent us:
I was able to attend an audience taping of Everybody Loves Raymond this past Friday night. When the announcer started the Q&A session, I asked him about possible DVD releases. Phil Rosenthal then stepped in and stated that he and Ray are finishing commentaries for the first season DVD set and hope to release it this May or June. Their plan would then be to release the other seasons annually at the same time.
Wow, what incredible news that is. Raymond fans all over owe Chris Beachum a debt of gratitude for getting this information, and we thank him for sharing it with us! We will, of course, try to get more info about this from the studio, so stay tuned.
