View Full Version : So we're 3 eps into the new season...
Snowfall 01-26-2004, 01:01 AM ...and 3 relationships have been killed! Wow, geez, ain't love grand?! I swear, it's like the writers are trying for a record of most relationships that its characters can run through in the course of a show. Now, I know that lots of relationships don't work in real life, but this goes even beyond that.
1strunfan 01-26-2004, 12:25 PM I totally agree. What are they thinking??? Yes, there are alot of relationships that Don't work out, but what about all of them that DO! Why don't they show a couple who go through alot and work it out, and get closer. Not break up? They really need to get a clue.

Five relationships. CD/Nate, Jinny/Jack, Mag/Gabe, Amanda/Jill and Kate/Louis. Five Relationships. Love is just peachy...

So, really, there's no love on TD, unless Jin and that one guy start dating. *sigh* It had redeemed itself last week...I loved that ep. But this one was sort of another disappointment.
MandieR1980 01-26-2004, 01:39 PM Jinny and Jack broke up last season so it doesn't really count
Expyra 01-26-2004, 02:06 PM How about Raina and Dom? What the hell happened there? No sign of him yet. Not that I give a sheep's ass because I hate Dom anyway and I think Raina is a twit. I'm sure they'll break up too. Or hell, Dom may pull a Teddy and mysteriously vanish. No sign of him yet.
*Marilyn Monroe* 01-26-2004, 03:47 PM Maybe Raina and whats her face will be lesbians.

Oh yes, I love that idea! That would be great. I could see those two together. That's what The Division needs: More lesbians! And I'm not talking about the gay recurring guest stars like Raina's lesbian mothers, or Jinny's gay brother, or Kate's lesbian daughter, or Kate's daughter's lesbian ex-lover. I am talking about a MAIN character. We need a main character who is gay. Come on, I need my girl-on-girl action!
Cat mentioned something to me in an instant messenger conversation a few weeks ago that I really liked and it has been sticking in my mind since. She said that, if C.D. couldn't be with Nate, how about she and Jinny become romantically involved? Talk about a great idea! I can totally see those two together. C.D. comes back, Nate is pissed off about the fact and the way that she left him, C.D. is upset and goes to Jinny for a little womanly love. Jinny could use it too, seeing how her past relationships with men have failed. Maybe she needs a woman. Maybe she and Magda could get together! Come on, admit it, you've been feeling the sexual tension between them since the beginning! I see how Magda looks at Jinny with those lust filled eyes. In fact, in one episode, Jinny was driving the car and she was so focused on the road that she didn't notice Magda in the passenger seat staring at her and licking her lips. Okay, I may have made that up, but work with me here! I think Jinny and Magda should get together. I really can see it. They are both gorgeous, hot, incredibly sexy ladies and they would make a great couple. Sure, I don't like Magda, but I wouldn't mind seeing her with Jinny. If they did get together, I would probably start liking Magda again. And if that wouldn't work they could bring C.D. back and have she and Jinny hook up. I don't care, one or the other is fine. But I would rather it be Magda because I want C.D. to be with Nate.
This is it! I am taking a stand! Do you hear this Deborah Joy LeVine?! GIVE US OUR LESBIANS!
CD DeLorenzo 01-26-2004, 07:31 PM I think CD and Nate definitely need to be together.
There was an article about gay characters that I read once... here's the link.

Deborah Joy Levine wanted to have a Lesbian character as a main character but the network turned it down. And Bonnie said in an interview that she wanted Kate to have a "little dalliance with a woman" because she thought it would be fun. But as you can tell that didnt happen either.

It said somewhere that just about all the actresses were jumping at the chance to play lesbians. Can't remember where, though.

Yeah. I forgot about that. I think Taraji said she really wanted to play one. But I remember Bonnie cuz she was really open about it. And I remember Nancy never got a chance to give her point of view on playing a lesbian and stuff. I posted the article a long time ago. It was like Lesbian News or something. I found it on the Lifetime boards.

Yes, I read that article before. I don't understand why Lifetime turned the idea down. I mean they obviously want diversity on the show because look at the characters: We have the older captain, the depressed alcoholic, the sweet blue eyed and blonde haired one, the Jewish man, the Puerto Rican, and the young African American. Where the hell is the lesbian, huh? Yeah, that's right Lifetime... you forgot that one, asswads.
The article says that they called in the actresses and asked each of them how they felt about playing a gay character. There was talk of Captain having an affair with a woman. Then they discussed C.D. having a fling with a woman after the divorce. Taraji was more than willing to play a lesbian. I honestly don't understand why Lifetime didn't agree to let DJL go through with this. Thanks Deborah Joy LeVine for actually considering it and not being an ignorant bitch. Lifetime was the bitch here. You, DJL, have only recently become a bitch. Why? Because of the s.hi.t.t.y way you wrote out C.D., that's why. You bitch! Lifetime is full of bitches. Amy Jo Johnson, Meredith Viera, Barbara Walters. Oh wait, she's not on Lifetime. Oh well, she's still a bitch anyway. I hate that hag. Speaking of Barbara Walters, she is so old. She's what, 325 years old now? I wish she would go away already damnit. But no, she'll never go away. Not until they stop cryogenically freezing the bitch.
Great, now I'm pissed.

Yeah. I was wondering the same thing.
Tazdevil31389 01-27-2004, 09:22 PM I honestly think they should have at least one character that is a lesbian. I mean after all, they had that movie on lifetime last year with two lesbians. I totally think that would be awesome. Last but not least, was it just me or did anyone else see a little attraction going on between that woman and Jinny in the second episode of the fourth season?
nancyrulz 01-27-2004, 09:44 PM Yeah it's crazy! I mean, let's be realisitc here, I can't see why they wouldn't have at least some of the characters have a lasting relationship. Not all relationships have to get messy and end, some actually do work out!
AMP8208 01-28-2004, 04:35 PM I think Jinny and Nate should hook~up. I can't belive the guy who played Gabe in the other 3 seasons isnt here nemore!!! This other guy who is posing as him is dumb!!
Snowfall 01-29-2004, 01:11 AM OK, whatever about the lesbian issue and the actual number of broken relationships so far this season; I really don't care. My point is just that I'm so tired of seeing the relationships that I think could really work (CD and Nate---OF COURSE, Jinny and Teddy, Magda and Gabe, Kate and Ross) being trashed for stupid reasons. With CD and Nate, I thought, FINALLY, THIS will be the relationship that they will let be great, since it was the one that they had spent the most time building it up. I thought that their partnership/friendship/love story was amazingly well written, up until the season 4 premiere. It's a shame that the show's execs had to go insane like they did. I don't think they realized that they weren't just getting rid of 1 of 6 characters, but they were losing about a third of the show's chemistry. CD and CD and Nate's professional/personal relationship were a major portion of the show.

Well I really do care and I know other people do too. And MY point is that I am tired of seeing the relationships that I think could really work [Jinny and Magda, Jinny and C.D.] not even happening for stupid reasons.
