Can any one recommend some good sites for help or software to use in creating DVD R? If any one here can answer my questions that would be great.

I have a couple of files (Mostly MPEG or AVI) that I want to burn to DVDR, problem is the software that come with my burner isn't that great, (DVD Builder/Easy CD Creator) sure you get cool menus and it's rather simple but when playing the dvd in the player the quality of the file isn't that good. If any knows how to make this better using that software that would be even better then getting new stuff. I do have these files on VHS but I can't afford a DVD Recorder so I was hoping there was a cheaper way of going about doing this. I was going to burn them as VCD's however my new DVD player (less than a month old) doesn't play VCD, even though the box said it will :mad:
