Sorry, but David Spade is a little bit long on the tooth to play Katey Sagal's "nephew"! I mean I could buy him as Katey's cousin or brother but not really as a nephew! I think Bud Bundy(David Faustino) would have beena better choice as C.J. and would have been great to see him return to acting again and to be reunited with his tv mom Peg Bundy(Katey Sagal)! Anyone think so?:D

I think the idea of bringing in former "Married...with Children" stars in is a mistake. I still feel that the critics would blast them for this. If Ed 'O' Neill was to be cast as a love interest then you might as well call it "Remarried...with Children." The critics are hard enough on this show already.

I do agree that David Spade was a questionable choice. He is too old to be Cate's nephew, and even though I think he's funny, his usual comic portrayal of a witty wise-cracker will interfere with Martin Spanjers character, who already portrays that on this show.

Yeah then have Christina Applegate(Kelly Bundy) as a love interest for Rory who keeps turning him down.

While I agree that David Spade is too old to be playing Katey's nephew and that his comedy style may clash with others on the show, I am getting sick and tired of people suggesting cast members from Married with Children as possible additions to the cast of Eight Simple Rules. Let's leave the past in the past and try to live in the present okay!?!?!
