Hi,

Can anyone recommend an online tape to dvd transfer service that is good at what they do? I have seen the website digitransfer.com but I haven't read any reviews about it so I don't know if they do a good job with the transfer, etc.

Thanks!

$19.95 for a 75 cent DVD?!

Check out Ebay. You can find a set top DVD recorder likle the Panasonic DMR-E30 for $150-$200.

Just a thought...I would think that the amount of money you'd put into a service for transferring your stuff from video to DVD that it'd be best put into a DVD recorder yourself.

Before I got mine, I dreamed about having one and begged my hubby. I kicked myself for not getting one sooner ( I would have begged more) :D if I'd realized that it saves money in the long run. (Buying DVDs on-line is cheaper than videos from Walmart, not to mention the shipping costs involved.)

An option that you might want to consider is that there are traders out there that would love to take your stuff and convert it to either DVD or VCD, for nothing. I loooooooooove those sort of trades. :happyface

Often times, if someone happens to have something in Great quality(as this xfers much better to dvd), I will xfer to dvd for them in return to xfer them myself. One note of caution, if you have tapes that are EP(SLP) and they are not first gen, the xfer to dvd doesnt come out great, sometimes can be worse depending on tracking issues. My Philisp DVD recorder "hates" tapes with tracking problems, whereas my Panasonic is a little more forgiving!
