As mentioned in the link above, Cody Lynn Nielsen has been convicted of the slaying of Trisha Ann Autry, a Utah teenager. He has yet to be sentenced, but if the prosecutors have their way, he'll go to the state's death house.

In the summer of 2001, UM ran a segment on the girl, who vanished in June of 2000. Before her disappearance, she frequently made online contacts. This led to speculation that she was kidnapped by someone she met via the Internet. In the spring of 2001, her remains were found buried near a research facility.

Trisha Autry was an innocent teenage girl who trusted someone too much and unfortunaly she ended up being murdered. It's such a sad story. I've seen the segment and there were several sightings of her sneaking out of the house at night to meet a man right before she disappeared. The man she was meeting was probably Cody Lynn Nielsen.

I watched this case today on lifetime. First time seeing it. Sad case, teenage girl, picked on at school, never fitted in, had no friends, escape to the computer for fantasy writing. Unfortunately she met a sick freak online who took advantage of her and killed her. Her mother died from cancer no too far after the killer was convicted.
