That pink refrigerator clashes terribly with Mama's yellow kitchen! EWWWWWWWWWW!

I remember that she has a fondness for pink appliances(remember the pink cordless mixer that she wanted so much?)Well seems to me that she would have changed the color of her kitchen. I know I would have!

My mom sometimes makes comments about that pink refrigerator. She says that she has never actually seen one before except on Mama's Family. I wonder where they got it? It is obviously a real refrigerator though. I agree about the yellow walls. I've never been in anybody's kitchen with yellow walls or colored appliances.

By the by, the pink icebox doesn't bother me at all. I think it goes with the kitchen, cause the yellow 'n pink is a pastel, springtime color scheme.

Just think, at Easter time, whaddya see? Pink marshmallow peeps in yeller boxes, 'n lotsa pink bunnies 'n yeller ducks! ;) Heehee!

Now if it were a purple icebox in a yellow kitchen, that would be bad! lol

I was never really bothered by the pink icebox..I actually thought it was neat...The closest I saw a pink fridge was an olive green one. :p :D And besides, it was the 70's/80's thing to do - have strange colored iceboxes/fridges. :D

I miss 70s/80s appliance styles. (even though I wasn't born early enough to own any) I too am not bothered by the pink icebox. All the appliances today are so boring! Black and Silver televisions are your only choices and black white or stainless steel refrigerators are your only choices. Give me colored iceboxes and woodgrain televisions anyday!

Amen! The last place I lived in, the countertops were mixed red and black, the stove was olive green and we had a white fridge (well, that was at the time of moving out...When I moved in there in 2000, we had a side-by-side freezer/fridge that was also olive green). Oh yeah, and we had a yellow dishwasher but that didn't work.

Now here, the fridge's just white, I have another yellow dishwasher (again) and beige washing machines. Boring.

Ah, I remember woodgrain TV's. My family's main TV, up to about 1990, was one of those floor TV's encased in wood...It was a Sony...After we got a black Zenith TV and made it the main TV that year, we moved the floor TV downstairs and had it until my parents split up in 1995. I have no clue where it is now...I miss it. :(

*sigh* memories....

Okay, so I was watchin' "An Affair To Forget" tonight, and this is the one time where a character actually uses the word "refrigerator", lol.

Naomi: "Ms. Harper, where is the ham?"

Mama: "Well, I believe it is in that big pink box we call the refrigerator!"

Which is so ironic, cause they never really call it that, they (especially Mama since she refers to it 99% of the time) always say "icebox" elsewhere! lol

I just watched the episode about Mama's Miracle Tonic and Bubba is sitting in the kitchen and behind him on the counter is a PINK electric can opener! I had never noticed that before!:D

Also there is what I consider a blooper in this episode. While Mama is preparing the tonic on the kitchen stove it has the consistencyand the color of chocolate syrup which Mama comments that it is the exact consistency that she was looking for. Well, the tonic that is in the bottles looks like weak tea. Very thin and light brown! Just thought that I'd point that out!

Sorry TallguyinKentucky I think that pink clashes terribly with that color in the kitchen, which is not a pastel yellow , but a sort of dark garish yellow!:p

It took me a while to find it - it's titled, "Mama‘s Medicine Show". :)

I know what you mean. Up until my parents got their first big screen in 1996, we had a RCA floor TV encased in wood. It was so beautiful, even the speakers were nice! And there was always plenty of room for knick knacks on top (i.e like Mama's pink flamingos). Now the tvs are so thin! We kept it in the family by giving it to my grandmother, but some years later the tv died:(

Yeah, but it's still yellow 'n pink, which are spring colors---guess that's why it doesn't bother me, lol. And I just love color and uniqueness! :D

My grandma STILL has her floor TV encased in wood, too...It's a Maganvox (sp?), and that thing is HUGE. You can lift up part of the top...You can open up the top left part to pop in a record, or the top right part to play a 8-track. I think the TV is from appx. 1975 to 1980. I LOVE it. She doesn't have it plugged in or anything, but she still has it in her house. It's so beautiful. I hope my grandma never gets rid of it and that it stays in the family after she passes on. And you're right, there's so much room on the top for plenty of stuff! ;)
