Why did the Jeffersons stop airing on TV? Does anyone know when we will see it on TV again?

N@N's/TV LAND contract expired and that's why the Show is no longer on National Cable. There are some local TV stations that air the Jeffersons in the U.S. You can also buy the first Two seasons on DVD.

I just bought season 2 on DVD, but I am still anxious to see a bunch of other episodes!

Me too. It's a shame I didn't record them when the show aired on N@N back in 1999/2000

I recorded a lot of them. Let's just say I have 12 vhs full of Jeffersons. I am fine with my tapes but I really am anxious for the rest of the seasons to come out on dvd. The reason is because with the dvds: shows in better quality and plus the episodes aren't edited for commercial purposes.

Do you have Disco Fever? That is the episode when Helen and Geirge goes disco dancing

Sitcom Analyzer, remember in "Disco Fever" when George is on his way out of the apartment he yells "Freak Out!!" That part gets me laughin' every time. I taped almost all the episodes off of WGN when they aired it back in 1994 & 1995. I even taped both parts of "The Strays". They always aired "The Strays" on WGN.

Sitcom Analyzer, I'll have to find which tapes those episodes are on. I have around 20 tapes full of episodes, so it may take a couple days. Once a find the episodes & see that they are still in good picture quality I'll let you know something.
Did you like the episode where George is watching Whittendale's dog & he throws a ball over the balcony & the dog jumps off the balcony after it. Whittendale's wife called George a dog killer.
That's one of the funniest episodes.

I agree with you, the episodes from the 70's are much better than the 80's episodes. Although, there are about 10 episodes from the 80's that I like, such as the episode "They Don't Make Preachers like Him Anymore." I also liked the two-part murder mystery episode.

Still looking. I have made it through 6 tapes so far. I've got about 12 more tapes to surf through. I know they're on one of those tapes. I'll keep you posted.

I'll let you know when they arrive. They are coming Media Mail so it may be a week or two before they get here.

It's 23 episodes shy of the entire series.
