i was watching roseanne on nick at nite and saw an episode called lobocop. sure enough, who was a bar patron? jeff garlin! he was wearing a chicago cubs shirt and only had one line. he went uncredited for the role, imdb doesnt even have a listing for him in anything before 92. just thought it was pretty cool, and he looked pretty much exactly the same he does today.

You caught him pre-credited. The guy reminds me of George Wendt, I think it's the voice.

i never thought of it before, but you're right. he resembles george wendt in many ways. their looks are alot alike too. they got the same build and that black curly hair. jeff garlin is awesome, he really makes curb your enthusiasm great. him and susie essman have the funniest relationship, i love how she always acts like the biggest bitch and he just takes her ****.

I'll assume Suzie G. plays Jeff's wife. Jeff seems like an intregal part of the show.

Saw the orig. special and the 1st couple eps when they aired, but I just got season 1 so I'm just starting to roll.
I'm feelin' like it's George (but successful), married, & living in Lala Land. I dig it.

oh man, i wont spoil anything then. too bad you dont have digital cable on demand. i was able to start from ep 1 and watch them straight through to the current new ep's now over the last couple months.

That's cool. That's why I really didn't watch any 'til I got my disks. I like having them &, as you mentioned, viewing them in order. Now I'm starting to watch new ones on 'BO too though.

yeah, you gotta watch them in order, it only makes sense watch the storyline develop like that.

as for the dead, i caught phil and friends last year, but i'm only 21, i didnt get into the dead until the past couple years so i focus alot more on the bootlegs. i'm working on a strong collection, waiting until i get my 400 disc cd changer to really blow up my collection. hoping to get expand to a couple hundred shows, have them all at my fingertips. i'm really addicted to the live shows and theres soo many soundboard bootlegs and each show is an experience in itself, so i guess you could say i'm starting out on a long strange trip. if you want links to some good sites for downloading full shows, let me know and i'll link you.

Well, I have been watching some new ones now (after I viewed season 1). Since I'm a pretty big fan and've seen sesason one, cathing new eps works. Plus it's written where you could enjoy a single ep, they stand pretty well alone. I was lol last night!

(Cool- mudshark82, I use some of the standards (gdlive; nugs; PhilLesh), if you have some good ones I'd love 'em. How cool... tapers used to have a zillion cassettes, & of course you would have to phycially trade & copy them.
Good shows (songs & performance) are great, but when you built your collection, go for the quality sounding ones, you end up listening to those more, just my 2 cents.

side note: just to be clear to anyone who is reading, we call them 'bootlegs' only because they are not comercial studio releases. They are not stolen/pirated/bootlegged or in copyright infringement. For years the Grateful Dead allowed us to record their shows for our & fellow fans enjoyment. Thousands of shows have been recorded & enjoyed at the encouragement of the band. I went to many shows sitting in the designated "tapers" section, yes..... they even at times would provide a special seating section (usually near the sounboard) for all the personal tapers. Many times all they asked was if you were going to tape, do it in the tapers section. There was no extra fee for those tics but you had to request them. Remaining band members now provide access to many show recordings on the web.

i really agree on the good quality shows. i actually just bought my 400 disc yesterday. i figure i will focus more on the soundboard shows, for the exact reason you said, thats what i will always go for when listening. of course you cant disregard some of the great shows out there that are only available as not so great recordings. a good fully legal p2p filesharing network out there is furthurnet, a big focus on gd and phish on there, but you can find stuff from any artist that authorizes tape trading.

While watching ep 1 (The Pants Tent) with the comentary, [real] Jeff talks about having a stroke, & lossing/learning some speech again etc....
Anybody hear/know that?
I know in one of the early eps he goes to hospitol for a bypass, put this was the 'real' Jeff.
