View Full Version : Shrek 3 gears up Brian 01-23-2004, 03:19 PM http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/art-main.html?2004-01/23/10.30.film Dean Winchester 01-23-2004, 08:23 PM I don't think it's wise to do a pt. 3 before pt. 2 comes out. Remember Matrix and Back To The Future?? The first ones are classics, then the second and third ones were rushed too close between each other, and neither of them made the impact pt. 1 did. Brian Damage 01-23-2004, 08:36 PM Sequels rarely live up to the original. These Shrek movies do feel forced. webuster 01-24-2004, 08:56 AM I think they're jumping the gun, the article also says they're preparing a sequel to Shark Tales, even though the first one hasn't been released. I think Shrek 2 looks good, but a 3rd is really a big attempt to make money- because as long as they make Shrek films they'll probably always be successful. It'll be a long time before Computer animated features start behaving like other films. To date, the only CG flop was the final fantasy film. I'd love to see someone attempt a CG horror movie. Sitcomwriter 01-25-2004, 02:54 AM Originally posted by webuster I'd love to see someone attempt a CG horror movie. There were plans for a CGI horror version of "Alice in Wonderland", based on the video game "Alice". It was to be directed by Wes Craven and was originally set to be released in 2003 but then it was pused to 2004. I'm not sure if this'll ever happen. webuster 01-25-2004, 08:36 AM Yeah, I'd hear of the Alice movie, I've played some of American McGee's game 'Alice'- it's very good, and dark- but probably not full blown horror. I'd love to see a movie version- for a while there were talks of live action, then cgi- I think Angela Bettis was attached to play Alice in live action, I'm not sure who Wes Craven had said about providing voices. But it looks like it's not going to happen now. Rhiannon 01-26-2004, 09:27 PM Shrek 3? Is there even a Shrek 2? Brian 01-26-2004, 09:34 PM Shrek 2 will be released later this year. In addition to the return of the cast from the previous film (Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, and John Lithgow), Julie Andrews, John Cleese, Antonio Banderas, and Larry King will also have roles in the film. pg41 01-29-2004, 07:54 AM I dunno if they should make anymore sequals to Shrek. Yes, the first one was very good and did very well, but sometimes when you try to make another hit when you already had a great one, it ends up being tacky or maybe doesnt even do as well. Just like those one hit wonders. |
