Am I the only one that gets a stomach ache watching this show? All he, Quincy, ever does in the show is yell all the time! Seriously, watch it and count how often he raises his irritating voice. It just bugs the heck out of me. And another thing.......there is NO way a guy like him could go out with so many attractive ladies. Give me a break! Oh yeah, every one of you women out there would just love to date an over the hill, loud mouthed coroner.....right?
This show was painful to watch. Leave it on the shelf.

I guess that is just his character!! That is what the producers and creators made the character for is to have him yell!! Sorry that bothers you!!

I've only seen this show in reruns and let me tell you, Quincy's furious tirades are the highlight of the show! More disturbing to me was that I've never seen Quincy's top row of teeth!

He had to do that in order to give the show some life.

This show wouldn't have lasted more than one season without Klugman and his yelling. Frankly, I enjoyed when he did that and he gave his own personality to the show. It was a great series!! I don't care what anybody says!!

I think that was the best part of the show when Quincy would get on his emotional soap box and start lecturing and yelling!!

You tell them Quinc! Be the voice of the deceased, who can't speak for themselves about the unjust way they died!

Jack Klugman certainly wasn't going to do this show by whispering sweet nothings into the ears of his opponents. He was going to be loud and obstreperous. He was also up for the role of Stan Zbornack on the Golden Girls before Herb Edelman. But, only if Brett Somers played Dorothy. She wouldn't do it because she didn't feel the show had "staying power." Imagine that?

I enjoy all thing about this show, but a point has been brought up about how he gets so many attractive ladies. Jack Klugman was about fifty-four when the show started and about 61 when he left the show.
Women must love doctors, even though he is a Medical Examiner.

Jack Klugman also shouted all the time, when he portrayed sportswriter Oscar Madison on “The Odd Couple.” Mr. Klugman’s sloppy character would continually become annoyed with Felix “The Neat Freak” Unger and lose his cool. I think everyone found Oscar Madison’s rants to be very funny and appealing.

Mr. Klugman also portrayed an easily annoyed man in “Goodbye, Columbus,” as Ali McGraw’s father.

I was curious and wanted to see what this thread was and did i get more than I bargained for, look at this post from WatcherofOldTV from 1/7/16:

This has to be one of the most ridiculous posts on the site. Suggesting Brett Somers a career character actress who had done very little outside of the Match Game and hadn't an IMD credit since 1980 was ever given any consideration for the role of Dorothy in the Golden Girls! The only place the poster could have found information like this was in the old Weekly World News.
