Do you think that ever since Monica and Chandler got togther, Chandler hasn't been as funny and its kind of ruined the show? What are your thoughts?

The show hasn't been the same ever since season 5, when they got together. I don't know if it was their hooking up that caused the show to go bad, though.

I think the Candler/Monica marriage hasn't hurt the series at all. It's about time someone on the show had a relationship that lasted.

I think they've done a good job balancing the marriage stuff with the friends stuff.

No, it's Ross and Rachel that is bringing the show down. They don't belong together.

Chandler and Monica being together actually makes this show funny. They are great together.

in earlier seasons, I would've had to disagree with you, but I think nowadays that Ross and Rachel have done their time, and that it's over. The chemistry is gone

It's would be so bad if Monica wasn't trying to rull everything mostly Chandler. She's a "control freak".Ross and Rachel's affair is getting old but,it's a big part of the show. They have problem who doesn't?Every couple had their ups and down. But,it's getting close to happiness for them. Some of you seem so mad when you hear Ross/ Rachel as a couple. If they don't get together I'm not going to be upset. The writers have the right to choose what they think is best for Ross/Rachel.I'm ready for both decisions...

This has been disscussed a lot of times, but I wish they never messed up with Ross and Rachel. After they broke up and started this "we were on a break" crap it went downhill fast. I think putting Chandler and Monica together saved this show.

I never minded Monica and Chandler getting together. At first I thought it was sweet. It was the last Vegas episodes that ruined it for me. Monica for some reason started acting like a ditzy teenager, almost manic sometimes like she'd had a billion cups of coffee. The whole thing seemed forced for a while. With the R&R relationship the comical moments were mixed with sensetive and deep ones. With Monica and Chandler it seemed like the writers were only intent on grabbing laughs. A sign that the show was going downhill anyway. The magic was lost.

I prefered the storylines post honeymoon. Things calmed down and seemed more real again and I began enjoying watching Monica and Chandler experiencing married life.

Now moving onto Ross and Rachel, it always seemed to me that Rachel only ever wanted Ross when he was with someone else especially after their first major breakup. She seemed to be doing fine until he got together with Emily. Then all of a sudden she realised she was still in love with him. I didn't really find it that funny when he said Rachel's name at the alter instead of Emily's. I felt sorry for the poor girl, I mean after all I know she was perhaps a little bit on the jelous side and after Ross's verbal mix up, who wouldn't be?....but you could tell Emily really did love Ross (I know must remember it's only a tv show, only a tv show http://www.websmileys.com/sm/fingers/fing28.gif
So I agree the Ross and Rachel thing has been exhausted but I'd rather see Rach end up with Ross instead of Joey...I mean comeon, Joey?....they should have got someone new for her. Why do they all haveto end up sleeping with one another? Isn't there anyone else available in New York?

End of moaning session.

For me personally Season 1, 2, 3 & 4 were the best and the beginning of Season 5. Those were the days http://www.websmileys.com/sm/happy/050.gif

I think it changed the show, but I don't think it ruined it. I think Rachel getting pregnant and having a baby ruined the show.

I still find the show amusing to watch, but I have not watched to much this season. I used to make it a point to watch on Thursdays, but lately I thought it has lost something.

i dont think it is any certain relationship that ruined the show, it think there is something from everyones relationship that has gotten a bit boring and over done

Ross and Rachel - We were on a break
Monica and Chandler - There are touching moments, but I get tired of seeing Chandler take her crap and never say anything, I want to see him stand up to her and tell her NO for once
Pheobe and Mike - He is just boring and to unoriginal for her
Ross and that chic he works with (she dated Joey first) - She has no personality and boring

But what really ruined the show in its entirety is Rachel being pregnant, the story lines just lost it at that point and never regained the comical writing it had before IMO

Chandler has always been pretty annoying but it was just irritating when they got together.

I hate how NBC is advertisting it as some sort of drama when its a freaking comedy. If you were not familiar with the show and saw those commercials, I bet you would think it was a drama, seriously!

And of course the Rachel/Ross thing is being milked the most in those misleading commercials. Sure the show isn't funny anymore but its not a freaking drama!

I don't know if the whole Monica/Chandler relationship is bringing down the show but I definitely agree that Chandler just isn't as funny. I used to love him and his sarcastic comments and his failure with women. I really, really don't think either character is as fun to watch since getting married. I thought they were funny when they were just dating but I don't like that they got married.

Ross and Rachel, on the other hand, are what pulled me into the show. I always have felt they've had a sweet little connection and I hope they end up together but I think I'll be satisfied either way.

I agree with you on the Chandler/Monica thing. Chandler takes to much crap from Monica. That is one of the reasons why I began to dislike Monica. She doesn't talk to Chandler right.

But at the same time, the Chandler of earlier years would have NEVER let Monica walk all over him like that. He's just become too mellow, I like the old Chandler way better....His one liner comeback lines were SOOOOOOOO funny.

Mondler made the show for me.

It's the R/R eps that I can't watch.

I know, that whole "we were on a break" gets annoying after a while. Monica & Chandler love each other. Chandler says he loves Monica when he goes to Tulsa & when they meet Erica who has their baby (or babies in the finale) "She's the most wonderful person" or something like that. I need 2 watch Friends. I have missed it for almost 4 weeks b/c of this darn summer class (sociology) which is over in 2 days! Then back to my regularly scheduled Friends marathon on Mon & Tues! :)

I don't think that them being together ruined the show at all. I think that it is great that they dated and even got married. Ross and Rachel went through so much. I was happy when Ross and Rachel got back together on the last episode, but I think that neither relationship ruined the show. I don't think that Rachel needed to have Emma though. That did kind of make it not as good because some episodes focused alot on Emma and not the other characters. Then later on you don't even see Emma anymore.

I agree - they made Monica too hyper, not alt all like she had been in earlier season. The season after Vegas seemd a bit weak (and they toyed with Ross and Rachel but backed off), but there were plenty of nice moments through the end. I still get teary eyed in the one where Chandler and Monica get engaged get engaged - when Chandler walks into the apartment and sees all the candles, and Monica says "you said you wanted it to be a surprise." That was so moving.
