I just read an obituary on Dean (Stuhlmueller) Miller in the Detroit News today. Dean, who played Matt Henshaw on "December Bride", died of cancer on January 13, 2004 in his Grosse Ponte Woods, Michigan home. He was 79. According to the notice Dean was actually discovered by MGM execs while taking a train trip to California in the early '50s. This lead to some minor movie roles and then his big break on "December Bride". After "Bride" he hosted some TV game shows and the travelling "Here's Hollywood". Dean left California and went on to anchor TV news in various cities, including Detroit in the early seventies.

Sounds like he had a rich, full life.

Until the time of his demise most sources listed his year of birth as 1917 not 1924!!! I read that when he co-starred with mario lanza & james whitmore in 'because your mine'(1952) his age was listed as mid-30's? Not that it really matters but I always wonder about these types of descrepancies!

Wow, I didn't realize that Dean had passed, that makes me very sad.
I grew up in Hamilton Ohio and the Stuhlmillers were my neighbors.
I was so in love with Dean when I was a little girl!!! I was just devistated when he married!!
Dean's obituatry has his dob correct. :) He was not only very handsome, he was very nice as was his entire family! His dad was a physician and was my doctor and just a very nice man.
I believe that the family home is owned by a trust now, though it's been occupied by either Stuhlmillers and family members all these years... Dean's brother's wife currently lives in the family home. His brother passed a number of years ago.
The Stuhlmillers and various family members were a huge part of my childhood and I smile at all the good memories and I really do miss them all.
