Cokies 06-11-2001, 08:55 PM Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! This is the worst episode of all-time! This should be the episode voted the funniest episode that wasn't supposed to be funny. Scary, too. Powersuits everywhere *shudder*

Michele35 06-11-2001, 10:29 PM That red one-piece number worn by Jo in tonight's episode was horrible...poor Nancy who picked her wardrobe?? I didn't understand what Jo saw in Flyman....he seemed pretty flaky...of course, I didn't understand what she saw in Rick either, lol.
------------------
Tootie: Muffy? Her name is Muffy? What kind of person is named Muffy?
Jo: Beats me, Tootie.
FOL & DS fan 4ever 06-11-2001, 11:14 PM I think you're right Cokies about this episode being inferior, although it's not the worst. Yea, Flyman and Jo looked alike in this one. You hate it even more than an episode from Season One, or "Brian and Sylvia?"
mjwise 06-11-2001, 11:34 PM Also, did anyone notice how TECHNICALLY inferior some of this show was? The film they used at the end to show the supposed hurricane was all scratchy and out of focus. Yuck! Also, when the handyman guy opened the door for Blair, did anyone notice that it was PERFECTLY calm outside the door even though there was a supposed hurricane? (That is an exterior walkway if you look earlier in the show) Also, why do we NEVER hear the wind outside except at the very end? And how DO hurricanes form in like 2 hours? People usually have at least a DAY's worth of warning. Give me a break! Not a very convincing hurricane. I really hate to nitpick this, but the technical goofs distracted a lot from the plot.
Not to mention the fashion! Yuck! That red thing Nancy McKeon was wearing made her look fat IMO. And that silver thing the lead guitarist was wearing....well we won't even go there. I think I saw that on Battlestar Galactica or perhaps Dr. Who.
All in all, a very mediocre show, although Blair's crawling around to get away from that creep WAS a riot...

Word. NOBODY knows what she saw in Rick. It's a pity, really.

Season One didn't really bother me that much. But you're right, "Brian and Sylvia" is pretty bad. At least no one had a fashion problem then.

Yea, I saw that...I suspected that it was a clip from an old film.

Good point! I used to live in Florida and I don't remember hurricane warnings being THAT short. That sounds more like a tornado!

True, he had nothing much to offer, except that I'll admit he wasn't bad-looking. But me? I don't want a cute bum!
Livin' La Vida Peekskill 06-12-2001, 04:55 PM Did anybody notice that Flyman and Jo just about looked the same in the episode?

George- How bout'

Jo- Nah, you can't do him

Michele35 06-13-2001, 01:03 AM YUK!!! That white one piece outfit Jo wore in Part 2 was worse than the red number. Poor Nancy....I didn't notice anyone else having to wear such a horrendous outfit. It was even bad for 80's standards, lol!
TVaddict 06-13-2001, 10:14 AM Don't worry, Tootie is going to be getting the hand-me-downs soon, so Jo doesn't have to suffer alone in the powersuits.
NancyRox11 06-13-2001, 12:06 PM i agree with TVaddict

Jo: So things change. You're born, ya move on, ya die, that's life.
Tootie: They're so perfect for each other!
Jo: Yeah, she makes peoples sick and he cures them.
Blair: The moon was but a chin of gold a night or two ago. And now she turns her perfect face upon the world below. The Moon. Emily Dickinson.
Jo: It’s freezing. Jo Polniaczek
coily2 06-13-2001, 01:03 PM This episode was wrong on soooo many levels. I don't even know where to start.
First off - Flyman, that mullet? Is. Not. Sexy. Period. Jo must have had a thing for no talent ugly musicians.
The one good thing that comes out of this episode is Tootie. She is actually likeable and gets a couple good lines in there. Oh, and Nat's man? Very cute by 80s standards.
Jo's jumpsuit - the red one and the white one? Ohmigod, I promise you kids, WE DID NOT WEAR THAT CRAP in the 80s. Don't retro that outfit. Please. For the love of Mike. Don't do it.
JoJoJoJoJoJoJoJoJo 06-13-2001, 06:02 PM every1 pickes at these shows TOO much...i mean, you can't expect A TV SHOW to be perfect in every aspect! I thought it was a pretty good eps. of course i love all FOL eps. I thought the part when Tootie gave Leon the autograph was soo funny! But the one piece stuff Jo wore was not working...but hey, that's what people in 20 years will say about our fashions too! Have to remember that this show was taped 20 years ago...so there filiming techniques might not be as great as todays! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
------------------
Blair: Hold it, you ruined my watch.
Jo: No I didn't, it's a stop watch...it stopped
Jo: So things change, you're born, ya move on, ya die, that's life.
Blair: Don't get too mushy on us!

Well said!
Max Whittaker 06-13-2001, 10:09 PM I liked the one piece outfit. Ok, so sue me. I like that kind of thing.
You know, when Jo got sunburn it reminded me of when nancysbiggestfan got sunburn. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

Of course you can't expect a sitcom to be perfect, that's why we're discussing such "flaws" or whatever you want to call them.
I mean, I enjoy the episode, but not in that "classic" way. More so in that "so chessy it makes me laugh" sort of way.
And I believe that today's fashion is the most diverse ever. People are wearing clothes from all different era's and it's acceptable. So I doubt people will make fun of today's fashion like we have about the 80s...

JoJoJoJoJoJoJoJoJo 06-14-2001, 10:54 AM Who Knows!! I thought the red one piece thing Jo wore was OK...but when she walked downstairs in that white one, i thought it was just something that she was wearing at the time cause she was sun burnt...i didn't think in a million years she would actually wear it in public!!!!!
