View Full Version : I just resigned from my job.

I don't want to disclose the reasons, but it was my decision. I will say that I'm both relieved to no longer be working for an evil empire, but obviously mortified for my immediate (and long-term) future. I have already filed for unemployment benefits online and am now working on my resume.

I defintely want to finish college. I should never have dropped out of college when I did. That was one of the stupidest things I've ever done.

It's weird, though. The stress of not having a job is, at least for the time being, easier than dealing with the red-hot stress level that the job gave me. I have had so many emotional and physical problems during my tenure there that I can't help but smile today to be done with that place.

But the question that's running through my head at this time is what now?

Wow, that sucks. Glad you feel better though! I, too, am so confused about my future.. I have no idea what to do. Is there something you want to do? I hope you start college up again soon and wish you the best of luck with it! Good luck with your resume too!:D :D

Leaving a job is traumatic, and it's understandable why you're upset. This may, however, be a blessing in disguise. I stayed at a job I hated too long, and felt so free when I finally walked away.

Since dropping out of college is a big regret for you, go back, even if you can only afford part-time.

I think there's a career in computers for you....possibly web design where you can incorporate your vivid imagination, graphic skills, humor and writing and make some good dough in the process.

You'll be fine. I really think this is the push you need to pursue and explore other options that will bring you happiness and contentment.

I'm rooting for you! :yourock:

Good luck, AKA! I'm sorry you don't have a job - but it sure sounds like you made the right decision. I'd definately recommend going back to school - there are so few jobs out there right now that it's good to at least have something to work towards (and you'll never regret it!) Good luck

Good for you! I know it must feel unsettling right now but something else will come along and you'll know you did the right thing for yourself. Best of luck to ya :cheer:

I wish I could quit my job. It's fine, but my boss is just nuts. She only trusts me to dust, but then gets upset when I don't get something done.

Good Luck!! No reason to stay somewhere that makes you so angry you hate waking up in the morning. Life is to short to waste it on a crappy job and jerky people.

Best of luck, do you at least have a read on a potential job opening? Can you get unemployment for resigning/quitting in your state?
