This rally is to find out what to do about the N@N problem. We have to vote on things to do to keep our Facts of Life. My suggestion is to only watch N@N when Facts of Life is on. Suggest and vote. Then we put it to the test together. Hope it works.

It's so true! They haven't showed FOL since two Thursdays ago, not even in the Graveyard shifts! What is N@N problem with FOL already? It's ratings are good! It's the #4 on N@N. Only cos everyone is so obsessed with the Brady Bunch. o.o But now they're not even showing FOL at all...

What would you suggest as a solution,James?

Well, I really don't know. N@N doesn't really like to listen to people.

it's true, N@N doesn't listen at all...i guess they figure as long as they got their Nickelodeon kids, they'll be OK. i think they've gone just a bit crazy w/ Diff' Strokes though, i mean first he marathon then tonights double take? People are going to get sick of it before they know it if they don't watch it!!

Maybe we should just wait out the storm?

Actually, I really love FOL, but I also love DS. Let's not forget that last fall, a FOL marathon was shown twice- and it was the same marathon the 2nd time around. Also, FOL used to air 2x per night. Of couse, since 3's Co. and a bunch of other shows on nick are currently being shown 2x per night, then so should FOL. But remember, as much as we love FOL, we don't want to get tired of it. I know that it's hard for some of you to imagine- but think about a time when your favorite song finally got stale????

For me, I can get along fine with FOL being aired 1x per night, as long as I get to see it every now & then. But dang it- I just wish that N@N would shows those controversial eps. Guess that's asking too much from them!

True, but I just know they are working up to canceling it! I don't know what to do. We have got to figure out something!

First of all, I think we should all keep writing. I know many of you doubt N@N even reads our letters, but you never know. Please keep writing to postmasterNAN@nickonline.com. This is one solution. Hopefully it will work. Remember to have hope. Do you remember when FOL first was reduced to one episode, and then we all banned together and we got a FOL twice a night a while later? Remember we make a difference. It will be big or small, but we have to have faith. Email every day, just do not name the email the same thing. N@N will delete it if it has the same heading/subject on it. Hopefully, N@N will hear all of us fans no matter what show we are talking about.

That would definitely suck if N@N were to cancel FOL w/out ever showing those controversial eps. I don't mind writing to N@N if I thought it would do some good. But what would you all prefer to accomplish: Seeing the same eps over and over 2x per night, or finally getting to see those controversial eps?

Peekskill Citizen, have you ever gotten a personal reply from N@N?

Do you live on the east coast or close to it? If so, is FOL being shown tonight (hey it's only 7:30 here on the west coast and I don't know for sure...)

I have never gotten a personal reply, but I have gotten a reply saying they have read my message and that they will pass it on to the programmers. I will still keep on writing though.

I think you're referring to "Double Standard Egotistical"

Peekskill Citizen, you've got ambition. I guess that most of us can't help but feel discouraged.....

This has just gone from bad to worse. I guess all I can say is that I'm thankful that FOL was on when it was, at a lonely time for me when I was living far away from home. It was all I had to look forward to every night at 10&10:30. Perhaps I wouldn't have become so obsessed if it had come on at any other time. But it made me smile and laugh, and I'm glad I had the foresight to tape every episode I could so that I'll always have them to go back to, even when nobody shows it. At this rate, 4 episodes a week, it would take an entire year to get through the entire run of the show. I'm just glad that we got 15 episodes a week (remember that?) when I really needed them, because it seems as though this is not going to have a happy ending for us Lifers. Ok, I seem to have gotten a little melodramatic there, and I apologize. But for some reason that's just the kind of mood I'm in.

If N@N knows how we feel, they will think twice before canceling, but as we all know who does their programing is a few fries short of a happy meal. Otherwise FOL would be on in a better time slot, and play late at night as well. I don't think boycotting will work, because as someone said if you don't have those fancy rating things on back of your TV, then they won't know if we're watching or not. Most people don't have those little things.
If we pick an hour every week to e-mail continuously and just entitle our message "Facts of Life", I think they'll get the point. Although the "head" folks don't read our mail, SOMEONE HAS to delete it. If he ends up deleting THOUSANDS of e-mails aday entitled "Facts of Life", odds are someone is going to take the time to read one of those letters. At least this way they will know FOL has a strong fan support, and it would be dumb for them to cancel it, or just show it on weekends, or whatever they're planning to do.
Ya never know though. Those folks at N@N keep altering the schedule from bad to worse.

No matter how many FOL fans from this message board send mail to Nick at Nite, it does not mean the actual audience for this or any other show is as large as the enthusiastic fans think it is. The network is not programming for the daily followers of the show. They know you are already hooked. There is no way they can increase the audience share as the show has been on the air this long and there are no new episodes with which to grow the ratings. For old rerun series like FOL, the only way the network can play it is pull it off the air for a few seasons, then put it back on the air in a spiffy new package and catch the interest of a new generation of fans. Nick at Nite cycles and recycles their shows. They figure you already have the old episodes on tape. They will wait for a new audience that is even right now probably in the sixth grade. Nick pulls FOL now and waits two seasons when the sixth graders of today are in junior high in the Fall of 2003. Then you will see the network roll out FOL to great fanfare in the Fall Schedule. That is how the game is played. It's just business.

I think you're just going to aggravate the sleeping giant. They could possibly move it farther back. I say enjoy it while it's on. With Cheers, Family Ties, and The Cosby Show coming FOL could be pushed far back! Proboly only the top 3 shows (Diff'rent Strokes, Three's Company, and The Brady Bunch) will keep a good time slot. Also, we are not the viewing the majority. The majority of FOL viewers are regular people.

And also, none of the topfour air late at night. All of them only show once a night, except Three's Company.
