View Full Version : Names!
TheHappyBurgerMeister 01-18-2004, 06:51 PM Anybody else crazy about names like I am! I don't know why I just like names and finding out new ones. When I was like 12 or 13 I had a notebook where I wrote down every name I heard of. That was before I had the internet though. My favorite boy's name is Adam and girl's is Rachel. babynames.com has tons of cool names.
No, I'm not having a baby now and I don't plan to for a long time. I don't even have a bf now, but I love names. I'm afraid to know what I'll be like when I DO get pregnant and I'll be obsessing over a name for the baby!

Yup, I remember you announcing to us you were having one! Congrats! Hmm, I'm probably not the best person to ask because I'll just swamp you with names! But, like I said before babynames.com has TONS of names, but you've probably been there before. Well, maybe not.
Oh, I also love the name Megan.
Mijada 01-18-2004, 07:07 PM Rachel is a cool name. If I ever have kids, they will have traditional names. I can't stand these trendy names that some people are naming their kids now. Patrick is my favorite boys name.
-*Leah*- 01-18-2004, 07:10 PM I love the name Taylor and Parker for boys names...and the names Alexis, Harmony, & Caden which I think could be used for a girl or boy.:D

Well if it's a girl, I'm thinking of naming her Madrina or Renata. I think those two are cool girl names. I like Nicolas or Vladimir (sounds like a good scary name) for a boy. :)
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 01-18-2004, 07:19 PM My fav. boys name is Chris. Dont really have a fav. girls name, but I do love my name, not to be vain or anything.:o
TheHappyBurgerMeister 01-18-2004, 07:19 PM I know that Hayden is a boy's name, but for some reason I like it for a girl's name. I don't know if anyone's ever used it for a girl, but it sound so pretty. If I do name my kid that I maybe spell it different. Maybe like Haidyn? I don't know, but I love that name!

I think you should stick with Rachel for a girl. It has been around for centuries and is still being used today but was never overly popular. Hayden/Haidyn is one of those names that is popular now but is going to sound dated in 20 years.

You're right. Rachel has been around forever and I don't think anyone will ever get sick of it. Other names like that are Emily and Elizabeth that have been around for years.
Mijada 01-18-2004, 08:53 PM Elizabeth is cool. That's a one of the names I'd pick if I have a girl.

dawsongirl 01-18-2004, 10:23 PM Names and their meanings do interest me. Same with last names. But coming up with names for fictional characters is hard sometimes. I'm so picky.

I did the same thing when I was that age! (and older, too.)
I have thought recently that if I ever had a boy, I would name him Colton. If I had a girl, I would name her Jennalise. (Combination of one of my favorite girl's names - Jenna - and Elise, which is my middle name and the french version of Elizabeth. My grandma and mom both have versions of the name Elizabeth.) I think it is neat to have your child be named after a relative, even if it's just a variation on their name.
~*Dailey'sGurl*~ 01-19-2004, 02:56 PM For a girl I like April & for a boy I like the name Ryan!

Cool! I'll add it to my list. ;)
Brian 01-20-2004, 12:25 AM My favorite name ever is "Ernie." It all originated from a teacher at my old private school. His first name was Ernie and everybody would call him by his first name, which he hated so much. Some kids (including myself :o, but in my first couple of years at the school) would go into his class going, "Ernie! Ernie!" in a high voice.
