Max Whittaker 06-06-2001, 10:10 PM I feel they don't like FOL either. I don't know how that is possable, though

vienna waits 06-06-2001, 10:50 PM If The First Time can't be shown then their was no reason that the DS ep should have been shown. The First Time episode handled it in a very mature way and the DS episode didn't. The DS episode was more like just an episode where Willis wanted to be cool and show off. The First Time should be shown plain and simple! Nick at Nite just must hate us FOL fans. Nobody has more dedicated fans than FOL and I guess they just want to make us mad!!

JoJoJoJoJoJoJoJoJo 06-06-2001, 11:08 PM well, i don't know if this helps..but it takes about 5 minutes for me to do this evertime i get online. I have an already written out letter that I send to n@N, here it is:
To Whom It May Concern:
I was very disturbed to hear that you "edit" , "cut", and simply do not show some episodes of "Facts Of Life" to protect children from viewing it. What children do you know stay up to watch "Facts Of Life" that are under the age of 13? Most children who are not of age to view material regarding important issues consider Nick At Nite and TV LAND to be boring. If your going to edit Nick At Nite for kids, then should you not edit Nickelodeon for adults? I mean, many adults find "Pinky and the Brain" not suitable for children, but that is what children view. Maybe your editing should not go towards the shows children don't watch, but rather those that they do.
Another questions, regarding more of my "fanatic" side when it comes to Facts Of Life. When will be your next marathon for Facts Of Life?
Please respond at your own convience. I will continue to send this letter weekly until a responce is given. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Amanda Gibson
well, everytime i get online i send about 10 of these to the people at N@N i figured one day...they might get sick of it and actually give me a responce!! I'm not sure if it will help, but like i said...it takes @ the max 5 minutes... i thin if enough people were to do this, it might have a little affect...or at least someone MIGHT get a responce..i mean, i haven't even got an automatic responce. But when i saw that they showed that DS episode where Willis talks about sex..i was like WHOA not because it offended me...but because they showed it. It was like catching a nun smoking a cigarette...just not something you see every night!! I think that DS and FOL should be treated no differently...they should show all the episodes!!
TVaddict 06-06-2001, 11:57 PM You shouldn't e-mail them multiple times in a short timeframe. They delete multiple messages from the same person, so if you're e-mailing them 10 times a day, they probably won't even read it.
Bootsy Whoosh 06-07-2001, 12:44 AM I am willing to wager that they don't want to show the controversial sexual episodes on FOL because they explore female sexuality, as opposed to male on DS.
No matter how far anyone may think we've come, issues dealing with women and sex are still far more taboo than issues dealing with men and sex.

Wow, you may be right Bootsy Woosh. I never thought that that may be the reason.

FOL & DS fan 4ever 06-07-2001, 02:00 AM That could be a reason, that never crossed my mind. But if you ask me, I think that N@N is just being selfish by saving certain eps to "boost their ratings" (as callmetootie said). What better way to boost the DS ratings than by showing a controversial ep, especially one that focuses on s-e-x.
Think about it, compare the best eps of DS to the best ones of FOL. I am a big fan of DS as much as FOL, but when it comes to picking the ultimate best ones for a marathon, there are a limited # of all-time-best eps of DS compared to FOL. In other words, one does not have to focus on the controversial eps of FOL to pick the top 40.
Sean Snow 06-07-2001, 01:15 PM I think they stopped paying attention to it after rating started to dip. It doesn't have one thing regular-REGULAR- viewers like-rewatchability. I don't have anything against the show, but there have been more complaints here about NAN then anywhere else. Also, I'm sorry if I offended anyone here.

I watch it! And I'm one of the young people here. But I aggree about the editing. Some people on the TC board tell how good the episode "Up in the Air" was (Where Jack takes "the Rocket".) Well they edited out some of te funbiest parts. ( I don't know if they were though. I never org. saw it.)

Jack: I'm surprised at you. Where would all the great women of history be if they thought like that!? Look at Joan of Ark and what she accomplished. And, and Florence Nightengale and Madam Curry.
Chrissy: And Lucretia Borzok.
Janet: She posioned people.
Chrissy: Yeah, but she was very good at it.
nancysbiggestfan 06-07-2001, 01:33 PM Hey JoJoJoJoJoJoJoJoJo, do u mind if i copy ur letter to N@N and send it to them once in a while. I liked the way u worded everything and wanted to use it.

NewsiesGurl229 06-07-2001, 03:45 PM N@N Needs to get their act together. If they are showing the DS shows that deal with sex then they should show the FOL shows that deal with sex too. I'm 12 almost 13 and have had the little "sex talk" with my parents like how many times already. Like too many to count.
N@N has some serious problems and are going to lose sevral viewers if they aren't careful. I too have a letter that I use. It's not always the same but here's what it's usually like:
Nick-at-Nite,
I have some questions concerning "The Facts Of Life" (FOL). There are sevral episodes you edit and cut parts, usually good parts, out of them. Why? These parts are usually totally and completly appropriate.
There are sevral episodes, which are so called "Contreversial Episodes" which you don't show. I am wondering why. Not many children who are too young to know about this stuff even stay up to watch it. I would really like to see episode number 22, "Breaking Point" which deals with suicide. And all of the other episodes you don't show.
I would like to know why these episodes aren't shown and why you edit and cut episodes. Please respond.
(then I use my AOL signature)
Kellie Jepson
This is just me. But N@N is going to lose sevral viewers including myself very soon.
JoJoJoJoJoJoJoJoJo 06-07-2001, 08:50 PM I don't mind you takin my letter http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
JMPolniaczek15 06-08-2001, 04:17 PM And another thing, FOL always seems to have a good message no matter what the situation. It's not they're promoting sex. Even though I haven't seem "The First Time," from what i have heard Nat regrets her actions. And the same goes for the suicide eps too. They all have a good lesson.

I think you're right. Forgive me for saying this but I think that with this evidence,
