The is the last season of the Sopranos, right? barwars 01-19-2004, 10:37 AM Woah.... Sopranos is leaving too?? Thats crazy.... Frasier Friends Everybody Loves Raymond Sex and the City AND The Sopranos ALL leaving TV in 2004.... not only for sitcoms.... but this is a bad year for TV in general. Steve M. 01-19-2004, 12:22 PM I'd also like to see "Ed" come back and, as for "Everybody Loves Raymond," isn't the jury still out of whether it will return? At least I haven't heard anything. Yeah, I'd like to see that come back, too. :D db108108 01-19-2004, 02:52 PM "ed" coming back would be nice, but I wouldn't count on it db108108 01-19-2004, 02:54 PM barwars- the problem isn't that these shows are leaving the air, the problem is that there is so little to take their place. In previous year, when alot of big shows left the air (like 1992), there were other big shows to take their place. Now there's not factsoflife 01-19-2004, 04:45 PM well they actually haven't confirmed "Raymond" yet, although it is generaly believed to be the last season. barwars 01-19-2004, 07:52 PM I know "The Cosby Show" ended in 1992.... what else did?? barwars 01-19-2004, 07:53 PM IMO.... NBC will have the worst schedule come next fall. I think CBS will own the ratings. But ABC is better IMO. James 01-19-2004, 09:20 PM Originally posted by barwars88 I know "The Cosby Show" ended in 1992.... what else did?? The only two that come to mind are Growing Pains and MacGyver. db108108 01-20-2004, 12:02 AM The Cosby Show as well ended in 1992. factsoflife 01-20-2004, 12:35 AM Originally posted by barwars88 I know "The Cosby Show" ended in 1992.... what else did?? The Golden Girls Who's The boss? McGuyver Growing Pains I'm not sure but i also think "Dallas" or "Knots Landing"... Shows That Debuted In 1992- Melrose Place Mad About You Dateline NBC And i'm sure others.... treky 01-20-2004, 04:36 AM "Frasier" "everybody loves Raymond" "The King of Queens" "Star Trek:Enterprise"-I agree with whoever said it's really gotten better!-it certanily has!!! (even though William Shatner thinks the whole "Trek" franchise is coming to an end) Joeylova87 01-20-2004, 10:48 AM Friends Will and Grace 8 Simple Rules Hope and Faith According to Jim Less Than Perfect The Bachelor The Bachelorette Fear Factor Smallville 7th Heaven Charmed db108108 01-20-2004, 11:24 AM Friends Will and Grace 8 Simple Rules Hope and Faith According to Jim Less Than Perfect The Bachelor The Bachelorette Fear Factor Smallville 7th Heaven Charmed Out of your list joey, W&G, 7th Heaven & Charmed have all been renewed. BowWowsBreezy 01-22-2004, 06:48 PM isn't this the last season for will and grace too? factsoflife 01-23-2004, 02:31 PM Originally posted by rvsockz74 isn't this the last season for will and grace too? No Will and Grace is contracted to NBC througout the 06-07 season ( i believe)... but in any case its not the last season. BowWowsBreezy 01-23-2004, 04:01 PM ok thanks factsoflife 01-23-2004, 05:44 PM No problem. Will and Grace Fanatic 01-24-2004, 12:20 AM HBO- Six Feet Under ABC- Hope and Faith It's All Realative Less Than Perfect Married to the Kellys NBC- Will and Grace Friends (obviously isn't going to happen) Scrubs Whoopi Happy Family Fear Factor Fox- The Simple Life My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance The WB- Like Family Reba MTV- Newlyweds The Real World db108108 01-25-2004, 01:06 AM W&G is renewed through next season, the series 7th. But with ratings declining so sharply this season (something like 30%), next season could be the last for W&G too. What makes matters more complicated for W&G is the lawsuit the creators have against NBC. When NBC renewed the show two years ago for three seasons, it was in negotiations with NBC Enterprises for rights to the show. The creators feel that NBC and NBC Enterprises teamed up to keep the liscensing fee down for the show (at about $4 million an episode), thus hurting the money in the pockets of the creators. "Good Morning Miami," also created by KoMut (I can't remember their names exactely) is now dead because of this lawsuit, a sort of retaliation by NBC against those guys. Of course, the poor ratings for that series didn't help it. IGNTBone 01-25-2004, 01:31 AM Joan Of Arcadia The Tracy Morgan Show Hope & Faith barwars 01-25-2004, 08:47 AM NBC is dead. Its over. Nothing can save it now. Its already begun the death process by shuffuling up the entire schedule. And worst of all.... a reality show on Must See TV. (i like reality shows.... but Must See TV is for sitcoms) factsoflife 01-25-2004, 12:51 PM Originally posted by db108108 W&G is renewed through next season, the series 7th. Of course, the poor ratings for that series didn't help it. You are so right. However i believe that NBC will want to keep as many hit shows as they can on the air, and with so little new hits, W&G is one of the only established comeides they have left so i wouldn't be surprised if we see it get renewed for its 8th and 9th seasons. But season 10, i'm not so sure. But you are right, GMM is as good as dead, they don't even have it on the air for sweeps. db108108 01-26-2004, 03:22 AM I believe that too. But I think a renewal deal for W&G will really come down to next May. If the show is still a top draw for the network, they'll bring it back. But if something else clicks or ratings for W&G continue to slide, it'll probably signify the end. In today's world of network tv, it only take one series or two series to bring a network back. It could very well happen for NBC, but I think NBC is going to crash like ABC did two years ago.
