I have always noticed strong similarities between All In The Family, and Roseanne. Aside from the fact that both shows were about a middle class, blue collar family, there were also several other similarities between the two shows. One of those similarities was Roseanne's blunt and disrespectful speech toward many people, which was very similar to Archie's approach toward people. I think the biggest difference between the two characters in this regard was that Roseanne used her bad attitude to work for her, while Archie would always make himself look like a fool at the end of each episode. Another similarity I noticed is the fact that AITF was a revolutionary show for it's generation by doing, and saying things never before seen, or heard on tv, just as many believe Roseanne, (in a lesser degree), was for it's generation. There are many other things that are similar to me about these two shows, including what I noticed the other day when I got a glimpse of the Conner's home address: 714 Delaware Street. Now for those who are a fan of AITF, you probably know that the Bunker's address is 704 Hauser Street. My question is, does anybody here know whether or not the similarity in the two addresses was done purposely, maybe as a tribute to AITF or something, or are the numbers being so similar just a coincidence? I was thinking that maybe someone involved in the show was a huge All In The Family fan, and this was kind of a way to honor it, but I haven't been able to confirm that. Do any of you have any insight on this? Thanks!
