Even if Tony doesn't win any more awards (which I believe he WILL), it's nice to see that he is now seen as a major and well-respected actor...PLUS he's directing a feature film!

Now if we can only get the general public to realize how talented the OTHER "Wings" cast members are we'll be all set!

I don't know. They're all the same to me.

Yay for Tony! :D I still think it's a shame no one ever got nominated for Wings.

SAG stands for Screen Actors Guild. It's a union that consists of thousands of actors. So, basically, Tony was nominated by his peers. Isn't that great? I mean, it's one thing to be nominated by the Hollywood Foreign Press (Golden Globes), but it's another thing to be acknowledged by your fellow actors.

I hope this helps in getting Wings released on DVD.

Tony is excellent as Monk, probably his best role ever.

By the way, the new season of Monk starts tonight.

I just watched Monk for the first time recently. It's a clever show. I just love Tony Shalhoub.

I noticed that his accent isn't as heavy on Monk as it was on Wings. I'm wondering if he took it up a few notches on Wings, for dramatic/comedic effect.....or if he's worked on his accent since.

Many actors with accents work with speech coaches to tone down or shed their accents.

hi Janice,
Well, Tony Shalhoub isn't actualy Italian. So, the accent he used on "Wings" wasn't his real accent. His real accent is Lebanese.. (I think. If I remember correctly)

Thanks Krista. I knew he wasn't Italian, but wasn't aware that he was Lebanese.
The way he speaks on Monk is the way he really speaks I guess.
