His name does not spell defense to me. In his last attempt with the Raptors he got fired. He may have a lot of wins...but that comes with have a lot of games under your belt.

View Full Version : I don't think Lenny Wilkens is a good fit jekouptown 01-15-2004, 11:23 AM His name does not spell defense to me. In his last attempt with the Raptors he got fired. The year before they made the playoffs. Besides Pat Riley, you tell me the best available coach out there. jekouptown 01-15-2004, 12:17 PM Originally posted by dlemond Remember that Vince Carter was out like 45 games last year with the Raptors. I agree..there are only a few names...chuck daly...pat riley...doc rivers.... and lenny is just as good as any. I know this...DON CHANEY won't find work for a long time...but with 5 mil...does he need a job.*l* dlemond 01-15-2004, 12:24 PM Originally posted by jekouptown I know this...DON CHANEY won't find work for a long time...but with 5 mil...does he need a job.*l* Umm, not really. If I was him, you'd find me a white sandy Caribbean beach sipping on cocktails, soothing my bruised wealthy ego. jekouptown 01-15-2004, 02:13 PM Originally posted by dlemond Umm, not really. I think dlemond was agreeing with you, meaning "not really" with 5 million dollars, Chaney doesn't need a job. dlemond 01-15-2004, 02:39 PM Originally posted by vashti1999 I think dlemond was agreeing with you, meaning "not really" with 5 million dollars, Chaney doesn't need a job. Exactly. I was agreeing with you. With the fact that it doesnt look like he will get a job soon and he really doesnt need one considering he can go do whatever with all the money he is guaranteed. isiahthomas 01-15-2004, 04:02 PM I like Lenny Wilkens as a coach cause he had a lot of success with Cleveland Cavs in the 80's but they could never get past Michael Jordan for some reason. To me the Cavs had a better team than the Bulls back in those days. I don't like Lenny having Dominique Wilkins traded when he was Atlanta's coach. Lenny didn't want Dominique with the team cause he felt Dominique didn't play defense & he was selfish. So they got Danny Manning for Dominique & Danny only stayed that season that he was traded for Dominique so that was a waste of a trade. We'll see how he does with the Knicks. Lenny had bad luck when he was in Toronto cause his key players were always getting hurt. jekouptown 01-15-2004, 05:11 PM Originally posted by dlemond Exactly. I was agreeing with you. I think we where on the same page...:D sinatrastar 01-15-2004, 06:22 PM Originally posted by isiahthomas I like Lenny Wilkens as a coach cause he had a lot of success with Cleveland Cavs in the 80's but they could never get past Michael Jordan for some reason.
