View Full Version : C.J=Cody Lambert?
Sitcomwriter 01-14-2004, 01:10 AM If anyone remembers, on "Step-By-Step" the character of Cody came in mid-way through season 1 as a guest star and lived in a van or something like that in Frank and Carol's driveway but ended up staying through 90% of the series' run.Does anyone think this might happen to C.J? James Garner started as a guest star, originally only lined up for a few episodes but he is now a regular. Do you think David Spade will become one too?
HDfanLiz 01-14-2004, 07:28 AM I thought the exact same thing, actually! I hope David Spade doesn't become a regular. I think he's really funny and all, but I like the show better without him, personally.
MichaelLutton 01-14-2004, 11:29 AM I Dont Want Him on There I dont Like Him He Cant Act.And He Is Really Going to Ruin This Show He Is Hes Going Ruin it
Chain Gang Member 01-14-2004, 02:35 PM I hadn't laughed so hard at an episode without John Ritter. He's going to help out the show now, that John is gone:crying:
Agent 99 01-14-2004, 03:46 PM I thought of Cody, too! I don't want him to become a regular, though. DS can be extremely funny, but I'd rather see the show focus on the dynamics between Jim, Cate, and the kids.
Adamantium 01-14-2004, 05:37 PM I think he should be the kind of character who drops by for a few episodes each season, but I really don't want him there full time. However, he was very funny in last night's episode.
And I, too thought of Cody. Which isn't a bad thing since I like "Step by Step". And Chico used to live in a van inside the garage, which is where he worked on "Chico and the Man". I think I'll by myself a van and park it in someone's driveway for a few years.
Pavan 01-14-2004, 05:41 PM C.J. also said "dude" like Cody always used to say.

I actually thought of Cody too! However, i dont want him to be a regular either. I want him to be a recurring character.
Chain Gang Member 01-14-2004, 07:30 PM Am I the only one who thinks that David is going to help the show out?
Honda Rider 01-14-2004, 08:06 PM I agree that David Spade will help the show out. The cast seems to enjoy working with him, and he brings a lot of comic talent to the show. I think he'd be best suited as a recurring character, like they used to do last year with Larry Miller and Patrick Warburton. If he's a regular, they would probably try to make 75% of the humor to him, and take away from the other characters. I also have to say, I can definatly see Spade as Cybill Sheppard's kid. I guess it's the hair.
wolf paws 01-17-2004, 04:19 PM I hope that David Spade DOES NOT become a regular. I liked him near the end of "Get Real" when he was being sentimetal, and was funny a little in some scenes of this episode, but he's not a good fit to this show! If they get too many regulars on this show, I think it will lose its focal point. Now James Garner is a perfect fit :) The cast seems to like him a lot, and I know he loves working with the whole cast just by what he said on Larry King Live.
