What is the best speed to copy vcds that has 2 or 3 tv shows on each disc? Does any certain speed matter or make a difference in quality and sound? Is a slower speed better or a faster speed? Just curious, I'm new at copying vcds and just want to get the best results. Thanks

Yes, if you are copying disc to disc, you can definately do it too fast. How fast is too fast pretty much depends on your equipment and the results you've gotten in the past. For best results, you may want to download a program trial like clone cd. It transfers the image to your hard drive then burns it back to another disc. Anything where you go image to new cd should be great.

Hi! Thanks so much for answering and for your help! :wave: I really appreciate it. Yeah I'm copying disc to disc. On my computer the speeds it lets me choose to copy in are these:
16x (2400KB/sec)
12x (1800KB/sec)
8x (1200KB/sec)
4x (600KB/sec)
2x (300KB/sec)
Do you know what the best speed is to use from those choices LOL? Also where do I download that program trial like clone cd? Thanks so much again! :)

i would probably choose 8x, but it really depends on all your equipment and all that. trial and error and the like.

i guess clone cd is no longer available for download at its publishers site due to legal isses, but its likely it can be found for download somewhere on the net. a similar program might be found in the downloads section of cnet.com or vcdhelp.com

anything that writes cd contents to an image file then back to cd should be good -- i believe even nero burning rom does that.

I'd stick with 8x and below. I used to make a lot of VCDs and anything above this was more likely to produce errors. There is no difference in picture quality, just in the amount of time it takes to burn the disc.

I personally stayed with 4x especially if I was trading.
