I used to watch the show sometimes when John was on there. What character did he play on the show? Wasn't he a policeman? What's the other black guy's name that is a policeman? I'm not talkin about Sean Patrick Thomas. There's a older black guy who i think is chief of police. He was in Action Jackson movie with Craig T Nelson who plays on The District.

Carl Weathers was in Action Jackson and was in the Rocky movies Rocky's nemises turned friend and trainer!!
John Amos was on only one season because he also had a recurring role in "The West Wing" as well. He is best remembered for the best mini-series in the history of television "Roots"!!

Carl Weathers isn't who i'm talkin about. I know he was Action Jackson. I'm talkin about another black guy on The District that is chief of police.

Thats Roger Aaron Brown who plays deputy chief Joe Noland.
