I read this morning that Roger Clemens is pushing back his retirement and signed a one-year contract with the Houston Astros. A press conference at 3:00 EST is scheduled to make the announcement.

The Yankees and their fans think that going to Houston for Roger is crying foul and think he is a traitor!! GET OVER IT YANKEE FANS!!!!!!

Ha! Eat it, New York! Right after I heard Clemens was retiring, I said to myself, he's not quitting! Yes! He's not a Yankee, he's a Texan. I don't follow the Astros, but it's much closer than New York, lol.

First of all shut up. Have a clue what you're talking about before making stupid comments. I love Roger and I'm happy he came back. He's closer to home which is where he wants to be. As a Yankee fan, I appreciate what he did for us. He said in a recent interview that he'll always consider himself a Yankee and that's good enough for me, even if he goes into the hall as a Red Sock.

Just mark this thread and post when the Astros come to Shea Stadium to face the Mets in August.

Clemens will conveniently be juggled around the lineup a week or so before in order for his turn not to be up in the rotation.
Either that or he will get suddenly sick.

I am surprised that the Rocket signed with another team. I would think he would want sign off for good with the Yankees.

Could he have signed for another year with the Yankees and get that type of money?

He won't pitch against the Mets because he will be worried that the Mets will retaliate for his beaning of Piazza and the throwing of the bat at Piazza.

No, they only reason he even thought about coming back was because his best friend Andy Pettitte signed with Houston. And since Houston is his hometown, it made it alot easier for him. He did say that if Andy would've signed with the Yanks he would've stayed retired.

I am so mad!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mad: The Rocket,who I thought was a true Yankee, has turned on his team. Signing with another team has made him less respected by me, and I'm sure by many other fans. I was very disapointed when I heard the news. Now I will be mad if the Rocket is put into the Hall Of Fame as a Yankee. Maybe he wasn't a true Yankee all along. Well, gotta go!!!See Ya!!!:wave:
