Which twin is on top and which one is on the bottom?
They were REALLY hard to tell apart when they were younger.

Mary-Kate on top, Ashley on bottom. (just a guess though.)

That picture of the twins' few-month-old babies was featured in the book, "Our Story". I have that book. Mary-Kate was on top and Ashley on the bottom. They were fraternal twins.

How in the world could people tell them apart, outside of the pointy ears(which I can't see in that picture)?

Umm, well I just looked at how they were characterized today, Mary-Kate is the sporty one...or so folks say so I just thought, okay, she is the one playing around and Ashley has always looked a little different, kinda prettier than the other one, and the bottom one was cuter...and if I am right like BrooklynGuy78 said, thats my theory...:lol:

I just wondered how their parents from their birth kept them straight... it would be very easy to get them confused. What if MK is really Ashley and Ashley is really MK?

OK... it's a little farfetched, but it's a slow Saturday Night. Ha! I've thought like that before too. Maybe their parents made them little booties with different colors like Becky's mom did when Nicky and Alex were born.
