Expyra 01-10-2004, 02:34 PM Why are you people celebrating?! CD IS DEAD! SHE WILL NO LONGER BE ON THE SHOW! NO! NO, THESE ARE NOT GOOD TIMES!
Am I the only one who is severely depressed about this?
Sweetchild2005 01-10-2004, 03:04 PM CD was a really good character, not my favorite, but I liked her and i'm upset that she won't be back but its cd thats dead not the show...so yeah im happy that the show comes on tomorrow, not everyone has to be happy about it..

I am very sad that CD is gone, but she is JUST a character...A figmant of Debra Joy levine's imagination,She's gone i'm sad. I admit that if Nancy or Bonnie left the show,I would be HIGHLY pissed, and sad,but i would deal and move on.
There are worse things then
CD leaving TD to be severly depressed about.
Example :Whats going on in Iraq...JMO,thats what I'm uspset about.
And sorry if I sound like a B*tch, this is starting to become a bit of a pet peeve.
And judging from commercials CD is not dead,I got the impression, that they were seeing eachother, and then broke up....maybe CD transfered....wich means CD can come back. Another thought accorded to me,Carter on ER wasin't in 1 season...so maybe Tracey is just taking a break for a while, and will be back later...just a thought, and MAJOR hope! lol

Oh thank you! I wanted to say that just couldn't think of how to say it...People sayin that they hate the show now cause she won't be there has started to irritate me...I understand people are upset she won't be back cause I am too but im not gonna stop watching the show just because of that...I'm not trying to make anyone mad cause I don't wanna piss anyone off. Anyways yeah that was my opinion.........
*Nancy Mckeon* 01-10-2004, 03:49 PM yyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy!!!!!! in exactly 6 hours, itll only be 24 hours more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay!!

Maybe she is just a character to you, but she is more than that to me. I know this is a television show, but it means a lot to me.
It's nice when you can escape from reality for an hour each week and get into the lives of these characters. You see what they go through and you can sympathize with them and even relate to their experiences. I believe that if a television show is truly good, it will be more than just to you. More than "just" a show where the people are more than "just" characters. Do you understand how television affects people? Let's take my other favorite show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, for example. They introduced the character of Tara and so many people latched on to Tara. Why? Because Tara was a shy, quiet girl who didn't have the best life and she managed to make friends and find love and figure out her place in life. Amber Benson, the actress who played Tara, got a lot of letters from young girls struggling with their sexuality who told her that by playing Tara [who was a lesbian], she helped them a lot by making them realize that it was okay for them to be who they were. And when the writers killed Amber's character, legions of fans were devastated. No longer was this woman who wasn't afraid to be who she was and to love who she wanted to love was on their favorite show anymore. I tell you, I was devastated because the character of Tara really helped me out. So, for a lot of people, television shows and characters are very close to the heart.
How many people can relate to the troubled character Jinny? I know of many people who love Jinny because they saw her struggle and they could relate to her. She was very important to them, and much more than a figment of someone's imagination.
You say that there are things worse than CD leaving, like what's going on in Iraq. Well, you know what? Let the government deal with that. I won't lie, I don't really care about whats going on over there. Whenever things get worse and it affects my life, than I will start to worry. But right now, I am sticking to the things in my life that are important to me. The Division is important to me. The character of CD is important to me. And you may not understand, and I'm not trying to make you. But I just want you to know how much a simple television show can mean to someone.
bananasplit 01-10-2004, 05:09 PM I'M SO EXCITED!!!
MovieHuntress17 01-10-2004, 05:13 PM I can relate to Jinny,and CD,and Cap...all of them, I don't have the problems thery have,but I don't need them to relate,I can sympathize...
I know exactly how tv can effect people! Myself included! I have NEVER missed an episod eof The Divison! Why??? Because you are right it is a nice escape from reality. I wanna thank Debra Joy Levine for her imagination, because it has comforted memany times. But's only a temporary break from reality. Jinny aswell and Cap,and CD are an inspiratiopn to me too. If they can deal with ther problems and move on so can I. But Hunny, reality always comes first! It's sad that you don't care about whats going on over in Iraq, because there are people over there from our own counrty, fight FOR YOU! people die by the hundreds everyday, and they all have family and friends, hell who knows some of them could be related to you dear CD! I know exactly how TV effects people, and it should, thats what it's for,and when I feel bad,TV especially the division, and CD helps me feel better. But when you get so wrapped up in the figments of people's imagination, that you are more concerned about 1 figment is absent from a show, then the fact that people are fighting for their country, defending their counrty from terrorism and even the end,and these people are dieing everyday FOR YOU .I feel sorry for you.
Look,I don't wanna get in a fight, okay. I stated my opinion, you stated your's,we have a right to our own opinion. So lets agree to disagree, and drop right here, okay?

First off, don't call me "hunny". I am not your "hunny".
Secondly, I know that people are over there fighting for this country. My sister's ex boyfriend was over there. But you know what? They chose to be in the army or the navy or whatever the hell they are in. They chose to fight for the United States. The second they decided to join up, they knew what they could be getting themselves into and they still did it anyway. It's called free will. They can go fight for this country that boasts freedom and liberty and justice and equal rights for its citizens, yet discriminates against so many. I want to marry my girlfriend one day, but this so called "wonderful" country of ours that people are fighting for prohibits homosexual marriages in so many states. All of that talk about equality under the law is rubbish because all of the minorities get the cold shoulder. So don't tell me about how people are going to war to protect this country because, as far as I see it, president Bush is a closed minded, ignorant son of a bitch and a miserable failure who is pouring this country down the drain. And as far as people dying for me, well I never ASKED anyone to die for me, okay? Get it right.
Third, don't feel sorry for me. You have no reason to feel sorry for me. I don't want your pity.

I agree he is a closed minded ignorant son of a bitch. He has made a lot of mistakes so far.
Yes you are right they chose to go over there. I'm not 1 bit grateful to Bush. He's part of the reason they had to go over there. But I am greatful to the soldiers that chose to go,I would never have the courage, and I look up those who have.
I never said you ASKED them too. They VOLUNTEERED to.Get it right. The fact that they volunteered to means so much more, then if you had asked.
And I hope that one day your dreams come true, and you get to marry her. I congratulate you on your love, and wish you MUCH MUCH happiness, and may you live happily ever after. There are a lot of ignorant predjudice idiots in this country. There are also a lot of modern, open minded smart people too. I like to think I am one of them. And the times they are a changin, hopefully there will be enough modern open minded smart people to out vote the others, and laws will be changed.
MovieHuntress17 01-10-2004, 05:48 PM And i'm going to apologize again for insulting you. I never ment to,and I'm sorry. And again,i don't want to fight. I'm all about the peace, and friendship...duude,I sound like a hippie kewl. We both have a right to our own opinion, and since we at least agree on Bush so far, how's about a truce?(or however ya spell it)

Yes, they volunteered. But do I have an obligation to be thankful? I am thankful, I really am, but I would be lying if I said that I care about what's going on over there. I hope the soldiers are alright, but that doesn't mean my life has to be put on hold. Yes, things suck and its sad, but I don't focus on whats happening over there. It's over there, not here, not in my home. I don't want it to be. I choose for it not to be. But I do appreciate what they are doing. I just choose not to think about it. Do you understand what I am saying?
Thank you for the kind words. I hope I live happily ever after, even though I don't believe in fairy tale endings. Yes, there are way too many ignorant prejudiced idiots, and it's sick and it sucks and I really hate it. But there are a lot of modern, open minded, smart ones like you said, and I wish there were more people like that in our country. But that's people for you. So many of them aren't that great. This is why I choose not to associate with them. This is why I love my teleivison shows and my characters. It's home to me.

It's alright. I don't want to fight either. I'm not really about peace and friendship and all of that. Sometimes chaos can be quite entertaining, and I can really cause anarchy. But I'm not in the mood to argue [something new on my part]. I just want to watch The Division. I am feeling very mellow right now. And yes, I can agree to a truce. :)

It's not the focus of my life either, and I try to keep my mind off of whats happening over there, and TV helps that a lot...well except the news anyways. And I agree life shouldn't be put on hold,it's over there, and we're here. Last Night I saw on the news that a local here was killed in war,and it kinda got to me,and I guess i took it out here, and I didn't mean too.

I hate the news. I won't watch it. I hate it when I am in the middle of a show and all of the sudden, this message comes up saying, "We interrupt your programming to bring you a special message" and it goes to news coverage. You can't really escape it. I like to be up to date with current events, but not too up to date if you know what I mean. I have a good friend who is very much into watching the news and being aware of what's going on in the world and she will just randomly bring up all of these news topics and I'm like, "Hey, can we just enjoy our lives without bringing the horrors of the world into it?" Talk about spoiling a good time.
I'm sorry about one of your local people being killed. That is tough. See, if something upsetting like that would happen to me, I would plop down in front of the television and put in my Buffy or my The Division tapes. It's a great coping mechanism. I know you're upset about that person's death, but just remember, The Division fourth season premiere tomorrow night! That should cheer you up.
You didn't take it out here. You were just sharing your thoughts. If you need to talk about it or anything I'm only a PM away.

Oh yeah, same with my family. It's all about the drama, huh? Very amusing. And yes, the chaos that The Division brings is entertaining. I won't lie, last season's shoot out at Anchorside had me clapping my hands and cheering. I am a sucker for action. It gives you a rush.

Get my mind out of the gutter? Once you're a Bonnie fan and you watch a movie like JC, its quite difficult. You should know.
