omg, i'm really sorry for your loss...i couldn't imagine life w/o one of my close friends...
as for your depressing songs...i wouldn't really call them DEPRESSING, but songs on Dido's first cd, No Angel really can just...put you in a mood. It wouldn't be a depressing mood...it's just...there. I dunno, but like, whenever I'm upset I'll always listen to Honestly Ok and Isobel, and it's not like...a disgusting perky feeling that you're getting from it, it just kinda mellows you out.
So, yea, any Dido songs would be good to listen to.

Janice Johnson 01-10-2004, 12:17 PM That is a sad song.
"I seen fire and I seen Rain. I seen Sunny Days that I'd thought would ever end." When I heard that song in Remember The Titans, I almost cried. I had heard it before on the radio, but somehow when I heard it on Remember The Titans, it really touched me. When I heard it on hte radio, it didn't have the same affect on me.

I'm sorry for your loss. My best friend was killed many years ago and I really took it tough.
Someone mentioned Fire and Rain by James Taylor and I think that is an appropriate sad song. The line "But I always thought that I’d see you again" sums up all our human fragility.
Take heart and be strong.
Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone
Susanne the plans they made put an end to you
I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song
I just can’t remember who to send it to
I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain
I’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I’d see you again
Won’t you look down upon me, jesus
You’ve got to help me make a stand
You’ve just got to see me through another day
My body’s aching and my time is at hand
And I won’t make it any other way
Oh, I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain
I’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I’d see you again
Been walking my mind to an easy time my back turned towards the sun
Lord knows when the cold wind blows it’ll turn your head around
Well, there’s hours of time on the telephone line to talk about things
To come
Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground
Oh, I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain
I’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I’d see you, baby, one more time again, now
Thought I’d see you one more time again
There’s just a few things coming my way this time around, now
Thought I’d see you, thought I’d see you fire and rain, now
HuntingtonM15 01-10-2004, 12:52 PM I'm sorry for your loss. :( If you want a sad song, I think you should listen to "Room With a View" by Carolyn Dawn Johnson.
You've got a room with a view
A window to the world
You always had your sights set high
And now that you're gone
Your memory lives on
And I see you smiling in my mind
With angels as visitors dropping by
Your room with a view
Also, "The Wind" by Mariah Carey. I believe she wrote this song about one of her friends who was killed in a car accident.

Well, when my grandpa was really sick, I used to listen to I'm Already There by Lonestar, and I'd cry my eyes out. Same thing with There You'll Be by Faith Hill. These songs are sad, but in a way, kind of uplifting. I hope they work out for you. :)
