The episode is a flashback to when Doug and Carrie bought their home 10 years earlier. There is a scene of Doug at his locker at work shaving off his mustache which he has back then. His locker is open but the locker next to him has the name DANNY HEFFERNAN on it. Danny did not work for IPS when Doug and Carrie started their marriage. Doug got him he job (with Carrie's insistance) well into their marriage. What sloppy production values.

The whole show was a bit weird. You mean to tell me that 10 years ago, Doug was envisioning himself "jet packing"--for want of a better word) to work like George Jetson in the year 2004?? Silly. Also, that whole "70's House" didn't work that well either. There *could* be some people selling a house fully decked out in 70's style furnishings, but in *1994*, it would have been odd homeowners wouldn't have updated a bit. And the dumbwaiter is a device that's been around forever. They'll give younguns the idea it was a 70's thing. It wasn't. It was used a great deal in Victorian homes, and perhaps prior to that time period. I DID like the sunken living room! :D

yeah, about those jet packs. It didn't make sense he took a jet pack to work and drove a truck for IPS.
