View Full Version : Three's Company Season 2 DVD: Coming May 4, 2004, with Extras and 1st Unaired Pilot!
Pavan 01-07-2004, 12:32 AM Anchor Bay is planning the second season for release in May, 2004. This 4 disc set will contain all 25 episodes from the second season as well as the first unaired pilot, all for a SRP of $39.95. There are more extras planned, but nothing is confirmed at this time.
There's also word that we should expect the third season to be released before the end of the year and probably the second unaired pilot.
I'll get more info, very soon. Stay tuned...

So will I, it sounds like it'll be a real good set.
dlemond 01-15-2004, 02:46 PM I see there are two special features on John Ritter but why no "Best of Jack- Season 2"?
They are doing it with Janet, Chrissy and The Ropers, but why not one for Jack's highlights of Season 2.
Seems silly.
Pavan 02-02-2004, 06:05 PM Release date of Tuesday, May 4, 2004 has been set for season two. Mark those calendars!

oh, I know, I have 5 coming in the next 3 months I wanna buy.
However, tv DVD's have made movie DVD's less appealing to me, lol. I think you're getting a better deal buying a season of a tv show than 1 movie + bonus features.

That's kinda the same way I've been thinking. I'm still into movie dvds but my interest in recent months has definitely shifted from movie dvds to tv dvds. I'm more aware of tv-dvd release dates than movie dvd releases I'm looking forward to. Anyway, May 4, this is mine.
Pavan 03-10-2004, 10:36 AM Our friends at TVShowsonDVD.com has the first full image look at the season two cover art. I will try to get more art VERY soon, but for now here is that image:

barwars 03-10-2004, 10:44 AM very nice.
although it doesn't look very clear.
Hey Pav, any idea on how the packaging will be??
Will it be slimpaks (like "The Dick Van Dyke Show") or a digipak (like "What's Happening!!" or "Cheers")

I am working on getting a high-def image of the artwork. As for the packaging, I won't get my copy until next month or so, so I will let you know then.

thanks
vashti1999 03-10-2004, 03:09 PM They're doing commentary on probably my favorite episode of season 2, "Days of Beer and Weeds". "The Baby Sitters" is another old favorite of mine. Hell, I like them all.
Pavan 03-12-2004, 04:37 PM A better copy of the cover is now released, check it out on my website:
http://jacksbistro.freeservers.com/dvds.html
barwars 03-12-2004, 08:49 PM very cool.
interesting cover.
the "box" slips out, and the outer case is actually the "figure" of the "3"
Sean Snow 03-13-2004, 01:49 AM I like the season 2 cover a lot more than the season 1 cover, which I thought looked somewhat cheap. *shrugs*
I love all the extras that are being included. In particular, I can't wait to see the pilot, the bloopers, and, of course, the unedited episodes. Season two is among my favorites so I'm definitely looking forward to it. I hope all the subsequent seasons will have equally good extras.
HIGH ENOUGH 03-13-2004, 05:29 PM Got this from www.tvshowsondvd.com

Best of Chrissy (season 2)
Best of Jack (season 2)

Steve's Roadhouse 03-25-2004, 04:44 PM Shame about the inconsistencies. That cover (Season 2) looks like a picture from Season 2 (which is good). Season 1 clearly wasn't.

Or close to it ... It was Susan Lanier in pilot two, and Suzanne Zenor in pilot one.
Steve's Roadhouse 04-27-2004, 12:18 PM That's a great review. This has got to be one of the best values to come along on DVD. I'll be down the store next Tuesday night.

I got mine at Best Buy for $24.99, about twice as much as Season 1, but we get four DVDs instead of just one!!! :)
algebra74 05-15-2004, 04:46 PM I was just wondering if anyone else found it absolutely ridculous for the television executives' having released the first season on DVD by itself. I thought that releasing these six episodes alone was stupid. Why couldn't they have made things a lot easier by releasing one set and calling it "Three's Company--The Complete First and Second Seasons". A minor bug, I know. I just wanted to see if anyone else were concerned about this.
*GoodMorningCalgary* 05-17-2004, 09:15 AM I just bought Season 2 yesterday! its awesome....the best part of it is the unaired Pilot. Its sooooo bad its funny.

Netflix list it on disc 1. Even on the sleeve it came in it says it`s on the disc.
Why isn`t the pilot episode on season 1 disc 1?
Laike 08-22-2004, 03:28 AM I just ordered mine on Deepdiscountdvd.com. $24, free shipping. Best deal of all time? Could be.
ThirteenInchEscape 08-22-2004, 01:15 PM I got it like the day it came out.
At any rate "the" pilot is #1 on season 1, but they made two pilots (I believe both had John Ritter as well as Audra Lindey and Norman Fell, I know the second did) before they got picked up with Joyce and Suzanne.
Therefor, the pilots are in special features.
The unaired pilot wasnt very good at all, it had a few decent jokes but terrible production values, the jokes actually were a bit more racy (I cant remember if I'm referring to something in particular, I just remember thinking that)

I believe that samsclub.com had it for $22 and some cents.
Laike 08-22-2004, 05:39 PM Oh well, $24, $22. Pretty close. I've shopped at DDD before and they ship very fast for free shipping, so atleast I know I won't have to wait that long.

Yes I am.I think they should have put 1 and 2 on dvd like there going to do with Seinfield. If anything it would give more storage space when storing it.
Pavan 10-31-2004, 05:20 PM I have written my DVD review of the season 3 set for my webpage. http://jacksbistro.freeservers.com/cgi-bin/framed/3198/dvds.html#Season%203 It is towards the bottom of that page, look for the heading "MY DVD REVIEW: (On Sale November 2)."
(If that link doesn't work, try: http://jacksbistro.freeservers.com/cgi-bin/framed/3198/dvds.html )
I hope you all read it and then buy the set, if you haven't already. It will be officially available this Tuesday!
