Good Times ran fro six seasons from 1974-1979..What do you consider the best season of the show and why?...

I'd say season 2 was the best. The characters were more developed by then. The James years were the best in the series. The last season was the worst.

the 2nd season is my favorite too; but since I like Good Times soo much, I like all the seasons even the infamous, terrible 6th season...

I also like all the seasons even the infamous, terrible 6th season. In fact, I don't think it's terrible at all, but as for my favorite, it's a toss up between seasons 2 and 3. At least in less than a month I'll have the 2nd season dvd set to refresh my memory of all that season's episodes.

I like the following seasons:
Season Three
Season Four:
Season Five:
Season Six:

My favorite is: SEASON FIVE AND SEASON SIX
I like 5 because I LOVE Willona's character and she became the star thgis season. She adopted Penny, and Bookman became a regular, it was funny and also challenging 2 see how they would cope w/ no Florida.
I like 6, when Florida returns. I like how Thelma gets married and everything comes into place and raps up.

The first full season (1974-1975) was undoubtedly the best. But for those who put down the last season (1978-1979), I'd say it was an improvement over the previous season (1977-1978) which is the one I rank as the worst. Florida was gone and the plots became so standard and routine. When Florida returned for the final season and the plots returned to more social issues it was far better.

THe 5th season made no sense to me because J.J was an Art Director and still living in the projects.
